A little over a week ago, I was wondering if anyone would care about the thing I’d just built. Let me rewind a bit. I’m a solo indie maker, just like a lot of you. I’ve built so many projects, put in the work, and then… nothing. A few months ago, I launched something I was genuinely proud of on one of the big platforms. I was excited, hopeful. But within hours, it got buried under a pile of other launches. No one saw it. No one cared. That sucked. Not because I expected it to blow up overnight, but because it felt like I never even had a shot. And I kept thinking about how many other indie…

I’m an indie maker, just like many of you. A few months back, I launched a product on one of the big platforms, and... nothing. It got buried under dozens of other launches within hours. All that work, all that excitement is gone in the blink of an eye. No one even saw it. It stung. I wasn’t mad, well, maybe a little but mostly, I just felt invisible. The truth is, indie makers like me don’t have big teams or budgets to fight for visibility. We rely on genuine support and connections. I couldn’t stop thinking about how many great ideas never get the attention they deserve because they’re…

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been developing Simple Lister, a platform built to support indie product creators and give them a fair shot. If you’ve launched on Product Hunt recently, you might have noticed that only featured products get the spotlight, while others struggle for visibility. Why Simple Lister? Simple Lister aims to fix this by offering a more transparent and fair approach for product launches. Here’s how we do it: • No favoritism: Every product gets an equal chance, and we don’t play favorites. • Daily Underdog Feature: Each day, we highlight one underdog product to give them…

I am an indie hacker and have been launching my products on Product Hunt. Like many of you here, my experience with PH sucked: Lots of bots. Hard to compete. There's also been many new launch platforms coming up, but all of them make you compete for upvotes. Ugh. So I have been working on something different: https://saascurate.com/ It's a community-driven platform where indie hackers and SaaS founders help each other grow their products. The idea is simple - list your product, engage with other founders, gain exposure and social proof. No upvote system. It's hard and…

Hey all, I built StackScope, a crawler/catalogue that looks at new product launches and shows what they were built with. It watches launches from Product Hunt, Show HN, and PeerPush, then crawls the public site behind each one. The goal is to show what people actually launched with: hosting, frameworks, analytics, DNS, security headers, legal pages, AI-builder signals, and other public clues. I started building it because most stack-detection sites look at the web as a whole. I was more interested in the current indie launch scene: what people are choosing right now, at the point they…

I kept seeing more and more Product Hunt alternatives pop up, so I started tracking them in a spreadsheet to potentially use for future launches. The list was sitting at around 80 sites when I decided to deep dive and see how many more I could find. So I then built IndieLaunch: 250+ directories to help you launch your startup. It's free to use and includes Domain Rating (DR) and traffic info so you can pick the right spot to get the most eyes on your launch.

Hey HN, I have been working on tggl.io as my main “side” project for over a year now. I was frustrated with existing feature flagging tools (you’ve probably heard of LaunchDarkly’s reputation) and saw an opportunity to innovate on two fronts: (i) Pricing: it gets very expensive very fast. I’ve made all technical decisions with the goal of limiting stupid expenses and ended up being 2x to 3x cheaper on larger deals. (ii) Product: existing solutions are just painful to use. Tggl focuses on product-tech collaboration and aims to offer a much better experience. As the customer base is growing…

I have been in the position plenty of times where I am trying to get my game out there and there just aren't a lot of places to do it. Product Hunt is great... but it's a little restricting and difficult if you don't have an in to post. So I created Game Hunt. The goal is to help with the exposure of a game to people who might not otherwise get exposure to it. Here's the link http://gamehunt.co/ Any feedback would be great!

Hey HN! I made a website to share and discover the next big hits in music. It works like ProductHunt but for music instead of products: anyone can share their discoveries of new hits and support talented emerging artists. The result is a curation of the best new emerging music where you can find new hits daily to make your playlists shine. Demo: https://twitter.com/mattiapomelli/status/1607463004794392577 Hope you like it, would love to hear what you think :D

We hatched this idea of a Kickstarter + Groupon + Etsy model last week, threw up a super simple landing page that day, then launched a more detailed landing page last night. What do you think of the idea as a whole? The landing page itself? Since the Etsy / crafting world is so large and diverse, we're really trying to focus on the sharing of our site to get the word out. We are doing some minimal google ads and will be doing various tests to see what brings in the best traffic and converts the best. Interestingly enough, good old fashioned twitter searching with hand authored tweets has had…

I build a lot of small products myself and I realized how many indie founders want an exit that doesn’t involve platforms charging large commissions or requiring big revenue numbers. Sometimes a project makes $50/month, sometimes $500, sometimes $0 but has a great codebase, and that’s enough value for someone else. So I built buy-startups.com, a very simple, privacy-friendly marketplace for buying and selling small online startups. It’s not fancy. There’s no commission, no listing fee, no hidden funnel. Just a straightforward way for indie devs and bootstrappers to list a project and…
