Products that do what A free multiviewer to watch major news events like elections does
Hey HN! I'm a Product Manager at the FT in the UK, and VidGrid is something I've been working on for years in my own time. It's just got a major update just in time for the election. The idea is a way to watch lots of different news streams at the same time, as if you're in a control room or news gallery for the very latest info. I tried to prioritise usability and speed. All streams are third-party sourced (from broadcaster's own links). You can now sign up for an account to save/favourite your own streams, and it has better keyboard and drag and drop support. I've also fixed a ton of…

I built a system that monitors ~200,000 news RSS feeds in near real-time and clusters related articles to show how stories spread across the web. It uses Snowflake’s Arctic model for embeddings and HNSW for fast similarity search. Each “story cluster” shows who published first, how fast it propagated, and how the narrative evolved as more outlets picked it up. Would love feedback on the architecture, scaling approach, and any ways to make the clusters more accurate or useful. Live demo: https://yandori.io/news-flow/

I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. Please try it out and let me know what do you think, http://telescope.surf/ Note: you can do 'Add to Homescreen' on mobile to make it as an app. Please leave a feedback or any feature wishlist you may have. Thanks!
