Products that do what A gamified social network for passionate fans does
Hi HN, this is youphenom. A new platform created to address some shortcomings both in social networking and (professional) competitions/sports. Simply find the content you like, vote daily for your favorite team and help them win the monthly competition. Or even start your own channel/team and turn it into a winning brand with many fans. Here are some of the problems that the platform solves for its users: - To this day social media channels, content pages and chatrooms are like silos - each their own separate island/planet of content and interactions. The competitive element…

Hey fellow HN-ers, I'd like to ask HN about my latest startup: SocialFolders. We take a Dropbox-like approach to managing your content on your social networks by mirroring all the content you have on these networks in folders on your computer. Moving this content around, between folders or between services, is mirrored in the all-mighty "cloud" (ugh, I hate this word). We'd love to know what you think. We think our approach solves the problem of managing content at scale. We put together a quick 2'30 screencast to show HN how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s2TFsVezZQ If you want…

Link: www.rise.ly Hey guys, We just finished building our site, and would be very grateful if some of you guys could test it out. Basically, Risely is curation platform that filters the noise from your social stream and only shows you stories on topics you care about. You just need to connect your social networks and select your topics. Trending stories get bigger as they get more popular. We are in private beta right now, but I have made arrangements and you will receive an invite 5 or 10 minutes after you signup. Thanks

So, me (dev) and my friend (designer) have been building a website/mobile app to help users manage their game library (think MyAnimeList, but games) for a little over a year. We launched with a very basic set of features, and have been slowing expanding since then. All the code is open source, and most of the things we implemented were direct feedback from users (e.g. being able to import games from Steam/PSN, and the Posts feature). We don't show ads or have any kind of subscription. This is just a hobby project. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as honestly the hardest…

With my friends we wanted to have a nice friendly competition (no money involved) about the football worldcup by predicting the results. I though this might interest other groups of friends so I coded a website just for that in 3 days. Nothing ground breaking but I like the suscription system "Doodle" style with just links, no personal infos... Tell me what you think !
