24 alternatives to A journaling service that runs over WhatsApp
Hey Hacker News, I’m excited to share a tiny service that’s very close to my heart - Today Has Been. Here’s how it works: We have a phone number that has WhatsApp Business API enabled. Your messages sent to this number (after you activate your free trial) are added to your journal. It’s a super light weight journaling service - no app download or registration is required. We also send you a daily nudge asking “How did your day go?” and after you have a few posts we send you a random blast from the past. Why I built it: I was an active user and fan of Ohlife - only journalling app that could…

Look, every journaling app out there wants you to organize things into folders and tags and templates. I just wanted to write something down every day. So I built this. One note per day. That's the whole deal. - Can't edit yesterday. What's done is done. Keeps you from fussing over old entries instead of writing today's. - Year view with dots showing which days you actually wrote. It's a streak chart. Works better than it should. - No signup required. Opens right up, stores everything locally in your browser. Optional cloud sync if you want it - E2E encrypted with AES-GCM, zero-knowledge,…

Hello Aria▲163I built HelloAria because every task manager I tried required too many steps to do something simple. The core idea: say "remind me to review the PR tomorrow at 10" and it creates the task, sets the reminder, and files it. No forms, no manual input. It works on iOS natively and also through WhatsApp, Telegram, and email — so you can capture tasks from wherever you already are. Tech stack: Swift/SwiftUI on the client, with NLP handling the intent parsing and entity extraction from natural language input. Looking for feedback from the HN community. What would make this actually useful for…

I've been working on my startup for years to no avail. Raised VC money and burned through millions - now built a simple service that lets you add a "chat to us" button (or can hook to your forms) to launch a WhatsApp chat. The key here is that the button can open chats with different WhatsApp numbers based on rules you can set. These rules can be based on the website visitor's geography, language, time spent on your site or even your business's office hours. Can also hook onto existing forms and use form fields in the rules too. Try it out on our site by clicking the chat to us button and…
