24 alternatives to A local merge queue for parallel Claude Code agents
I have been pushing up to 90 commits a day on a MacBook Air via 4-5 parallel agents. As you can imagine when all the agents try to build, test and run dev servers on an 8GB machine it is the fast lane to a force quit and restart. I also did not want to pay the CI minutes on 90 pushes a day. So I designed a local merge queue to have all commits land one at a time and fully tested. Hopefully this helps other folks with more modest machines. Appreciate any feedback.
A local merge queue system that processes multiple code commits sequentially on resource-constrained machines. Designed for developers using parallel Claude Code agents who want to avoid system overload and excessive… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Parallel Code▲159I kept running into a structural problem with AI coding tools. You try one agent. It makes changes. You try another. Now you're manually diffing branches and cleaning up experimental commits. The tools are powerful, but the workflow isn’t designed for comparison. So I built Parallel Code. It runs Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI natively (no API wrapper, no feature abstraction), but isolates each agent in: its own terminal its own Git worktree its own feature branch The workflow becomes: Spawn N worktrees Assign one AI agent per worktree Let them implement independently Compare diffs Merge…

Hey HN, I noticed there are 1,000+ MCP skills on GitHub with zero way for creators to charge for them. So I built Agent37. Selling Claude skills today means asking customers to download your skill, set up Claude Code on their laptops, configure MCP servers, and pray it works. No trial, no updates, often you're just handing over the source. Agent37 lets creators upload a skill, share a link, and anyone can try it instantly (no Claude account needed). Built-in Stripe, creators keep 80%. Looking for feedback on the approach. Would you use something like this?

Replicas▲239Hey HN! I'm Connor, creator of Replicas. I'm a heavy Codex/Claude Code user, and I wanted to hand off tasks to agents like I would to an engineer - kick something off before work, let it scaffold while I'm at lunch, even come back to a ready PR. The problem: existing alternatives use workspace VMs that are black boxes. I have no access to any of them - they can't run tests, read logs, or use tools like the Playwright MCP (which I use to verify agents actually fixed what they claim to fix). Replicas gives agents real cloud workspaces where they can: - Run your test suite and read the…

Hi HN! My name is Olaf, I work at CircleCI as a technology advisor in the CTO office, came in through the acquisition of my company Vamp.io (progressive delivery for microservices on k8s) in 2021. Wanted to hear the HN community feedback and thoughts on a project we think could be very interesting when adding AI coding agents to the SDLC and your CI pipelines. Our team at CircleCI built Chunk sidecars after repeatedly running into the same issue internally: by the time our CI catches a failure, the agent has already moved on and most of the useful context is gone. The basic idea of Chunk…

I built a lightweight project management workflow to keep AI-driven development organized. The problem was that context kept disappearing between tasks. With multiple Claude agents running in parallel, I’d lose track of specs, dependencies, and history. External PM tools didn’t help because syncing them with repos always created friction. The solution was to treat GitHub Issues as the database. The "system" is ~50 bash scripts and markdown configs that: - Brainstorm with you to create a markdown PRD, spins up an epic, and decomposes it into tasks and syncs them with GitHub issues - Track…

Scapefree tier, from $9.99/mo▲59Hey HN, we've been using Claude Code daily for months, and built Scape to fix our biggest pain point: managing multiple worktrees quickly & reducing the mental load of switching between them quickly. What we built: Scape is a macOS menu bar app that sits on top of Claude Code and gives you: - One-click worktrees: click a button, get a new git worktree with a Claude session already working on it. Develop in parallel without leaving your current branch. - Toolkit: per-session actions like "Create PR", "Commit & Push", "Run & Fix Tests." Add your own with bash scripts or prompts. -…

runCLAUDErun▲112I built runCLAUDErun because I got tired of manually running the same Claude Code tasks every day. It's free and it runs locally. What it does: It's a macOS app that schedules your local Claude Code to run on any schedule you want - daily, weekly, or custom cron expressions. My use case: Every night at 11pm, it automatically summarizes my Obsidian daily notes. But, it can schedule any Claude task - code reviews, data processing, report generation, web research, file organization, etc... Technical details: - Native macOS app (Electron + React) - Uses launchd for scheduling (proper macOS…

Single-agent LLMs suck at long-running complex tasks. We’ve open-sourced a multi-agent orchestrator that we’ve been using to handle long-running LLM tasks. We found that single LLM agents tend to stall, loop, or generate non-compiling code, so we built a harness for agents to coordinate over shared context while work is in progress. How it works: 1. Orchestrator agent that manages task decomposition 2. Sub-agents for parallel work 3. Subscriptions to task state and progress 4. Real-time sharing of intermediate discoveries between agents We tested this on a Putnam-level math problem, but the…

I've been working on CloudRouter, a skill + CLI that gives coding agents like Claude Code and Codex the ability to start cloud VMs and GPUs. When an agent writes code, it usually needs to start a dev server, run tests, open a browser to verify its work. Today that all happens on your local machine. This works fine for a single task, but the agent is sharing your computer: your ports, RAM, screen. If you run multiple agents in parallel, it gets a bit chaotic. Docker helps with isolation, but it still uses your machine's resources, and doesn't give the agent a browser, a desktop, or a GPU to…

Multitui▲126I made Multitui to control the sandbox of coding agents easily without changing my dev environment (no special container or VM). There's no configuration required in your local dev environment... just launch ClaudeCode.app instead of claude in your general terminal. Containers and VMs can be useful, but I always have a bunch of projects going and those solutions feel heavy. Multitui creates single-purpose native macOS apps for any terminal app, with optional sandbox. It uses the built-in macOS sandbox-exec along with log monitoring to give you an easy UI to manage rules, see what's being…

I've always had the urge to have my two macbooks communicate. Having one idle while working on the other felt like underutilization of resources. So I built Loopsy. Initially the goal was to do file transfer via local network, and then came running commands. I then tried running coding agents from one machine to the other, and it worked. Later I figured there should be a better way to continue my claude sessions remotely on my phone from the gym. So I did a cloudflare worker that connects to my local machine. I just need to ensure the laptop is plugged in. I know I might be reinventing the…

Claude Code is amazing for individuals but terrible for teams. I spent the last six months building my perfect mix of MCP servers, subagents, commands and skills. Claude Code writes 100% of the code now, but sharing this with my team? Painful. 1. Blog posts and workshops don't work (and don't scale) 2. Committing tools to N repos means N PRs. A tool changes? N more PRs. 3. Same tools, different files or folders for each AI assistant; not everyone uses Claude Code It is like 1999 all over again; FTPing files up to prod and versioning with ".bak" suffixes. So I built sx. It is your team's…

Hey HN! I built Retain as the evolution of claude-reflect (github.com/BayramAnnakov/claude-reflect). The original problem: I use Claude Code/Codex daily for coding, plus claude.ai and ChatGPT occasionally. Every conversation contains decisions, corrections, and patterns I forget existed weeks later. I kept re-explaining the same preferences. claude-reflect was a CLI tool that extracted learnings from Claude Code sessions. Retain takes this further with a native macOS app that: - Aggregates conversations from Claude Code, claude.ai, ChatGPT, and Codex CLI - Instant full-text…
