We are a small group of undergrads interested in building human in the loop coding agents. We dream of a world where building complex agent workflows feels as simple and creative as playing with legos. When we were building stuff we needed a tool that made it easy to try out different code embedding models so that we could see which ones worked best in different scenarios and understand their strengths and weaknesses. So to speed that process up we made PurpleSearch an 'instant' search engine for your local codebases. This tool lets you quickly deploy any open source embedding model on…

Hey HN, The way we hire engineers made sense in 2015. But in 2025, when engineers use AI tools daily, we're still testing algorithm memorization on whiteboards.. That's why we're building DevDay. DevDay is built for the new reality of modern engineering work: candidates collaborate with AI teammates, delegate tasks to AI agents, and solve problems using the tools they'd actually use on the job (LLMs, git, and Slac(k) for team communication). The old interview playbook is fundamentally broken: - Whiteboard anxiety tests don't predict performance - Take-home tests and virtual paired…

Hey everyone, I've been experimenting with collaborative learning and active learning for a while (I launched Coderoulette a couple of months ago) and I'm launching something new today that I'm really excited about. Online learning is pretty passive (video lectures) and lonely, and I think we could create an online learning experience much engaging and effective than that. Only 5% of people who start a Coursera course finish it. My hypothesis is that we can increase that number significantly by matching learners online in teams of 2-3 and giving them a real project to build together. On top…

Hi HN, We're a small team building AI tutors out of India, and as you might guess, this means we spend a ton of time writing, testing, and refining prompts for LLMs. When we started out, we were using the OpenAI playground but things became tedious when we wanted to compare responses from different models. We tried a bunch of other playgrounds but found them lacking in some features so we built our own. Hi indie hackers, Im the founder of coursegenerator.pro - an AI course authoring platform, for creating course content that actually delivers value to the learner. Why I developed it? A few months back I was running an agency, in an attempt to attract leads we began creating course as lead magnets. But we were losing time, so we started hiring freelancers then we lost money. Since the courses, we're cresting so many leads, I decided to use an AI course generator, but all of them were build for corporate training and not course authoring for e-learning, so that is why I built it
