The stack: two agents on separate boxes. The public one (nullclaw) is a 678 KB Zig binary using ~1 MB RAM, connected to an Ergo IRC server. Visitors talk to it via a gamja web client embedded in my site. The private one (ironclaw) handles email and scheduling, reachable only over Tailscale via Google's A2A protocol. Tiered inference: Haiku 4.5 for conversation (sub-second, cheap), Sonnet 4.6 for tool use (only when needed). Hard cap at $2/day. A2A passthrough: the private-side agent borrows the gateway's own inference pipeline, so there's one API key and one billing relationship…

Running DeepSeek V3 (685B) requires 8×H100 GPUs which is about $14k/month. Most developers only need 15-25 tok/s. sllm lets you join a cohort of developers sharing a dedicated node. You reserve a spot with your card, and nobody is charged until the cohort fills. Prices start at $5/mo for smaller models. The LLMs are completely private (we don't log any traffic). The API is OpenAI-compatible (we run vLLM), so you just swap the base URL. Currently offering a few models.

Deploying vision models is time consuming and tedious. Setting up dependencies. Fixing conflicts. Configuring TRT acceleration. Flashing (and re-flashing) NVIDIA Jetsons. A streamlined, developer-friendly solution for inference is needed. We, the Roboflow team, have been hard at work open sourcing Inference, an open source vision deployment solution. Our solution is designed with developers in mind, offering a HTTP-based interface. Run models on your hardware without having to write architecture-specific inference code. Here's a demo showing how to go from a model to GPU inference on a video…

Hey HN! We've run our privacy-focused open-source inference company for a while now, and we're launching a flat monthly subscription similar to Anthropic's. It should work with Cline, Roo, KiloCode, Aider, etc — any OpenAI-compatible API client should do. The rate limits at every tier are higher than the Claude rate limits, so even if you prefer using Claude it can be a helpful backup for when you're rate limited, for a pretty low price. Let me know if you have any feedback!

I started leaning in on AI heavily this year, as I wanted to get more done autonomously, but then my token usage climbed dramatically to the point where my weekly quota would run out before the end of the week, sometimes a couple of days into the week. I realised I had to do something about it else I'd have to double my spend. So I decided to start tracking my cost per task type. This revealed that a lot of my spend went to searches/scans or simple things like scouting tasks. I then decided to turn this into a simple CLI tool that can be used to read your OpenAI-style logs locally, and…

Hi HN, We’re building https://www.switchpoint.dev – a drop-in replacement for OpenAI’s API that reduces LLM cost by smartly routing across models (e.g., Claude, Gemini, GPT-4) depending on subject and difficulty of the task. Why we built this: LLM costs are spiraling—especially for products doing retrieval, agentic reasoning, or even just high-volume chat. We were frustrated with paying GPT-4 rates when most queries didn’t need it. So we built a router that: - Starts with cheaper/free models (like Llama 8B, 4o-mini, 2.0 flash) - Streams responses and upgrades on failure - Acts…

Hey folks, I’m the creator of WFGY — a semantic reasoning framework for LLMs. After open-sourcing it, I did a full technical and value audit — and realized this engine might be worth $8M–$17M based on AI module licensing norms. If embedded as part of a platform core, the valuation could exceed $30M. Too late to pull it back. So here it is — fully free, open-sourced under MIT. --- ### What does it solve? Current LLMs (even GPT-4+) lack *self-consistent reasoning*. They struggle with: - Fragmented logic across turns - No internal loopback or self-calibration - No modular thought units - Weak…

One thing that’s been bothering me about AI side projects is inference costs. With traditional software, a successful launch usually means higher profits. But with AI products, success can mean unexpectedly large bills. This has pushed me toward cheaper, less capable models and made me hesitate to even explore certain ideas. I don’t want every side project to become another $20/month subscription, but I also can’t compete with VC-backed companies willing to subsidize inference costs. Then I had this idea: what if users simply paid for their own inference? This already happens in some…

Hello HackerNews! I’m excited to share what we’ve been working on at nCompass Technologies: an AI inference* platform that gives you a scalable and reliable API to access any open-source AI model — with no rate limits. We don't have rate limits as optimizations we made to our AI model serving software enable us to support a high number of concurrent requests without degrading quality of service for you as a user. If you’re thinking, well aren’t there a bunch of these already? So were we when we started nCompass. When using other APIs, we found that they weren’t reliable enough to be able to…
