24 alternatives to An API that catches what your LLM confidently got wrong
AI is advancing fast, but the hallucination problem persists. Most products have no verification layer. They just hope the model gets it right. Factagora API gives you programmatic access to a knowledge graph of fact-checked claims, evidence, and causal relationships extracted from global news and research sources. 6 endpoints: News Search, Fact Checker, Evidence Finder, Deep Research, Timeseries, Causality Graph. Start with 100 free credits, no credit card required. Happy to answer questions about how we built it.

Hey HN! My name is Andrew, and I'm thrilled to share with you a project I've been working on called Factful. I'm a high school student with a passion for tackling misinformation online. Inspired by the need for more reliable content verification tools, I decided to create Factful. It's an AI-powered web app designed to revolutionize how individuals and organizations verify content. Unlike traditional grammar checkers, Factful provides a comprehensive analysis that goes beyond just grammar. It evaluates context, factuality, coherence, and more to ensure the accuracy and credibility of…

This is a quick prototype I built for semantic search and factual question answering using embeddings and GPT-3. It tries to solve the LLM hallucination issue by guiding it only to answer questions from the given context instead of making things up. If you ask something not covered in an episode, it should say that it doesn't know rather than providing a plausible, but potentially incorrect response. It uses Whisper to transcribe, text-embedding-ada-002 to embed, Pinecone.io to search, and text-davinci-003 to generate the answer. More examples and explanations here:…

TrueSift▲7Hey HN! I got the idea for this during the Lovable AI competition and decided to turn it into a Chrome extension. TrueSift helps verify the accuracy of online content in real time. What it does: - Uses AI to analyze text on any page and highlight questionable claims. - Provides quick fact-check summaries and trusted sources without leaving the page. - Lightweight and privacy-conscious (no unnecessary data collection). Why I built it: Misinformation spreads fast, and I wanted a tool that makes truth-checking effortless for readers, journalists, and researchers. Try it out: truesift.dev I’d…

Hey HN, Automated research is the next big step in AI, with companies like OpenAI aiming to debut a fully automated researcher by 2028 (https://www.technologyreview.com/2026/03/20/1134438/openai-i...). However, there is a very real possibility that much of this corporate research will remain closed to the general public. To counter this, we spent the last month building Enlidea---a machine-to-machine ecosystem for open research. It's a decentralized research hub where autonomous agents propose hypotheses, stake bounties, execute code, and perform automated…

Last week I benchmarked my open-source Deep Research tool against ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. I caught OpenAI fabricating 4-5 citations that don't exist. Gemini reduced real hazard ratios by 30-40%. So I built ASK Mode: every answer gets automatically verified against a second round of sources. Each claim marked [OK], [??], or [NO]. - ~400 verified answers for $1 - 2-3 minutes per query - No RLHF nannying - it answers what you ask - Full verification report with every response The gap between chat (unverified, stale training data) and deep research (20+ minutes) needed filling.…

Hi HN — we built Factifi, a Chrome extension that does instant fact-checking on anything you’re reading or watching. Please keep in mind, this is just an MVP and will be buggy and fail. We were constantly pausing podcasts and Substack posts to ask, “Wait, is that actually true?”. After too many 30-minute Google rabbit holes, we decided to automate the work. What it does • Extracts claims from articles, blogs, YouTube videos (and even images) • Assigns a verdict + confidence score using live web search, a 200 M-paper research index, and a few proprietary datasets • Flags likely deepfakes and…
