Hi HN, My team and I are building Tabstack to handle the "web layer" for AI agents. Launch Post: https://tabstack.ai/blog/intro-browsing-infrastructure-ai-ag... Maintaining a complex infrastructure stack for web browsing is one of the biggest bottlenecks in building reliable agents. You start with a simple fetch, but quickly end up managing a complex stack of proxies, handling client-side hydration, and debugging brittle selectors. and writing custom parsing logic for every site. Tabstack is an API that abstracts that infrastructure. You send a URL and an intent; we…

Sharing an internal tool that accelerated my development work 10-fold, especially with API debugging. Thought fellow developers here might find it useful. As a developer, I often have trouble reproducing errors at the client end. https://intercept.rest lets me debug and monitor API requests and responses. It is similar to the Network tab in Chrome Developer Tools but works for any API: mobile apps, webhooks, frontend etc. After I shared it with a close circle of friends, they found it incredibly useful and even found new use cases, I never imagined. Been a long time lurker here and…

Hey there HN! I just wrapped up an all-day documentation spree for Instant API, a JavaScript framework for easily building web APIs that implements type safety at the HTTP interface. It uses a function-as-a-service approach combined with a slightly modified JSDoc spec to automatically enforce parameter and schema validation before HTTP requests make it through to your code. You just write comments above your endpoint functions and voila, enforced type safety contracts between your API endpoints and your developers. OpenAPI specifications are generated automatically as a byproduct of simply…

Chrome now includes a native on-device LLM (Gemini Nano) starting in version 138. I've been building with it since it was in origin trials, it's powerful but the official Prompt API is still a bit awkward: - Enforces sessions even for basic usage - Requires user-triggered downloads - Lacks type safety or structured error handling So I open-sourced a small TypeScript wrapper I originally built for other projects to smooth over the rough edges: github: https://github.com/kstonekuan/simple-chromium-ai npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/simple-chromium-ai…

It's inspired by this comment I made: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26599746. I actually saw several comments with HTTP URL posted, and that was the only one I bothered to comment on. So I thought that this is something better suited for bots than human. I hacked this together over yesterday and today: https://github.com/fishy/https-bot. Basically it uses the Firebase API (https://github.com/HackerNews/API) to find comments with HTTP URLs in them, try the HTTPS version, compare the contents, post back a comment if the contents are…

Hey everyone, I've been working on publishing Lama2, a Plain-Text Powered REST API Client for Teams, for the past few months. Initial work on Lama2 started after my dissatisfaction with existing tools such as Postman/Insomnia. I wanted a text-powered and git-friendly system with a lightweight GUI layer on top so that I could onboard beginners/newcomers quickly into my team while also maintaining control over data. Today, we use Lama2 extensively internal to Hexmos; almost every internal code review tends to have a `.l2` API file attached now. It has worked great for us. More about…

We’ve just launched Gradient — an API that helps you build private LLMs that you own. We simplify inference and fine-tuning on open-source LLMs such as llama2, and you only pay by the token. Our API platform makes it possible for you to create private models with a single API call. Run inference on your fine tuned model instantly with no cold boot (and no need to pay for compute costs). The product is truly on demand - when you run fine tuning and inference on our platform, there's nearly 0 startup latency for these API calls. And you're not paying for the compute, you just pay for the…
