Products that do what Appendable – Index JSONL data and query via CDN does
Hi HN! A friend and I were inspired by projects like https://github.com/sql-js/sql.js and the idea of querying files served over CDN with HTTP range requests. We started thinking: what would a database that was specifically designed for this type of use case look like? So we started building one, and we landed on a functional prototype that we're pretty proud of! With our prototype, Appendable, we're able to serve and query large (GB+) datasets by hosting them on a static file host like Amazon S3 or Cloudflare R2 without running a separate server and worrying about things…

We’ve built SQLRooms, an open-source framework for creating single-node data analytics apps powered by DuckDB. It lets you build fully client-side, data-centric apps using React and DuckDB running in the browser (via WebAssembly) or in Electron. No server or backend is required — apps can work offline, preserve data privacy, and run queries on large datasets with sub-second performance. Features: - Query large datasets in browser with DuckDB (WASM) - Modular design for building composable data UIs (query editors, dashboards, notebooks, etc.) - Data privacy-preserving AI assistant that can…

Hi guys, I've worked on several apps in the past couple of years, and found that it takes too much effort going from having an idea to building an app and having the world use it. I wanted a way to have an idea, turn it into a fully functional native app, and share it with the world, all in the next 5 minutes, as quick and as easy as writing a blog post. That's why I built Jason. Basically Jason lets you build a native interface to display and interact with any data format (csv, rss, html, json), any website, any API in any way you want, simply by writing a JSON markup and loading it.…

Please check out out project, Lite Engine[1], a Backend as a Service web application platform. We provide everything you need to rapidly prototype and deploy your single page applications: static file hosting for your html, css, javascript and other assets, a subdomain on our site, security with https, and a 'create your own API' with SQL over CORS and JSON. I think of this as "geocities with a CORS backend". For your backend we've developed a system we call API Queries. You'll define SQL queries, save them on the backend, then execute them with http post requests that return JSON responses.…
