24 alternatives to Bamboo Weekly
I've just launched Bamboo Weekly (https://www.bambooweekly.com/), a newsletter that improves your Pandas skills, one week at a time. Every Wednesday, I take a topic from the news, point you to a public data set on that topic, and ask some questions. The next day, I show you how I would answer those questions with Pandas. Paid subscribers can comment, share code and ideas, and (of course) correct me when I'm wrong. I'm very excited about this, and am looking forward to help lots of Pandas users to improve their fluency in data analytics. I'm open to suggestions about topics,…

Hey HN! I’m excited to share sketch: a tool to help anyone who uses python and pandas quickly iterate and get to answers for their data questions. Sketch installs as a pandas extension that offers utility functions that operate on natural language prompts. Using the `ask` interface you can get answers in natural language. Using the `howto` interface you can get get python and pandas code directly. The primary benefit of this over copilot and chatGPT is that this adds data-content based context so that the generated answers are much more accurate and relevant to the data problem at hand.…

Hey HN, maker here. It was a serious 4-6 months of effort to build this. I have never poured as much love, attention and detail into a project before. So I really appreciate you having a looksie! The homepage has a fresh list of articles every hour and is open to all. Still, I recommend signing up so you can add stuff to your reading list and follow blogs. My initial plan was to monetize this with subtle ads, but that didn't work out as the traffic to the site isn't nearly enough for that. That said, I have a fair bit invested in this and I need your help figuring out a way to make this…

Hello folks! Me and a small group of developers started a free newsletter. The idea is to share 3 web dev tips every Monday. Our goal is to improve our writing skills and share knowledge as much as possible. So far, few hundreds of developers have subscribed and seem to like it. To get a feeling of what kind of stuff we share, here is an example of last Monday's issue: https://us4.campaign-archive.com/?u=5e499c75818d4611a008adfb5&id=106e5fbc71 If this is something that would interest you, you can subscribe here (its completely free):…

Hello! I built a web-app called JungleReader that lets you follow RSS, Mastodon, YouTube, Reddit, and random blogs, all in one place. I made JungleReader as a central place to follow the blogs and sites I like, which I otherwise often lose track of. My next project (which is WIP) is a web-app called JungleWriter where you can build a simple blog and export it for hosting. I love finding a good, free-standing blog, and hope to make it easier for people to read and write them. Feedback is appreciated, thanks :)
