I've been frustrated one too many times by terrible airplane wifi and not being able to load Gmail or Superhuman when all I want to do is get a few simple text-only emails out the door. These clients have become pretty bloated with the assumption you've always got great bandwidth. So I vibe coded BAREMAIL. It's open source, has no backend, and you can just set it up for yourself. Takes ~3 mins to setup API access via Google Cloud Platform (thanks for making this not super easy Google!) I tried to maintain nice design and some important keyboard shortcuts without getting to overBEARing.

Hey HN, I've been working on an email client and wanted to get some feedback! Minimail is built on Phonegap, so it uses HTML/CSS/JS for everything user-facing. The app also uses emailbox (a related project of mine) as the backend API for receiving/parsing/sending emails. I think email clients need a huge UX/UI overhaul, and so I'm trying to build a flexible/hackable email client that anyone can customize to fit their email workflow. Thanks for any feedback! TemporaryMail.com was created after struggling to find a working, secure and reliable service which provides temporary email addresses. The goal is to keep this service as simple to use as possible - while also always providing a free option which does not require registration. Some of the features: - Multiple domains to choose from, each with unique hostnames and IPs. - Support for inline images in emails. - Attachments are supported and can be downloaded. - Read your emails safely inside a sandbox (all external scripts disabled). - Read emails without automatically loading any external…
