24 alternatives to Been Ski
I built a web app to track ski resort visits. Think "been.coffee" but for skiing. Features: - 4,586 ski resorts with coordinates (scraped from skiresort.info, geocoded via Nominatim) - Interactive map (Leaflet + OpenStreetMap) - Visit logging with dates/notes - Stats dashboard Tech stack: React Native + Expo (web), Firebase Auth/Firestore, Zustand for state, deployed on Vercel. The most interesting part was building the resort database - wrote a Node.js scraper that pulled 6,130 resorts and geocoded ~75% of them successfully. Happy to share the scraping approach if anyone's…

SKI▲577SKI is a on-device voice coding application, which can be used with any agents that supports skill, such as Claude Code, Codex or Hermes. It transcribes your voice (which you can optionally review and edit) and send it to the connected agent. The agent then completes the task, and uses the skill to talk about the updates of the project or a summary or a query using voice. This runs completely on-device. Free. No subscription. Available on both Mac (notch and pill) and Windows (pill widget) It can also be sent to meetings with the intelligence of the connected project to participate actively…

I'm working on https://cubetrek.com, a web app to manage, visualize and compare your running, hiking, mountainbiking, skiing... activities. Some features include: a github-style calendar heatmap, 3D visualization of tracks (especially useful for hill climbs and mountaineous terrain in general), a world map displaying all your activities at once. Excluded features: although you can share yoir tracks to the world, should you choose so, there are no friends, no likes, no comments, i.e. none of that social networking stuff. And no ads. Any feedback is appreciated, let me know what you…

Hi HN, I’m full stack developer (formerly iOS) and I just launched Nomad Tracker, a native iOS app to help digital nomads track physical presence across countries for visa limits and tax residency. Key idea: everything runs on-device. No accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics. Features: - Calendar-based day tracking per country. - Schengen 90/180 and other visa “runways”. - Fiscal residency day counts and alerts. - Optional background location logging (battery-efficient, never overwrites manual data). - Photo import using metadata only (no image access). - On-device “Fiscal Oracle” using…

Hey HN, My co-founders and I have been building GridTravel, a free iOS app for planning and sharing travel routes with turn-by-turn GPS nav. We just launched yesterday after App Store approval. We're three 21-year-old cofounders and best friends since middle school. We built GridTravel after years of frustration navigating new cities on every trip we took together. The idea: most people either search Google for "top 10 places to visit in…" lists or go on social media to get inspiration on where to go. GridTravel is built around user-generated routes — actual paths someone walked, that you…

I'm working on a GPS track visualizer for quite some time. It shines in hilly and mountaineous terrain (where a 3D view makes more sense), but it also offers quite a lot of Strava-like features (statistics etc.). You can upload your GPX and FIT files manually, or sync directly with Garmin, Coros and Polar. See https://cubetrek.com for the live app and check out some examples there. It's free and opens source. Also, anyone who likes to work with 3D visualizations (especially Babylon.js), let me know if you like to help polish this thing further.
