Products that do what Bolt/Loveable for Video Editing does

I’m a indie hacker and I initially built this for myself to help with video editing since i’ve spent hundreds of hours editing videos. I’ve played with loveable and bolt and thought something like that for videos might work really well. What it can do: - Upload a video and ask for an edit - It picks the best parts and combines it into a video - Adds text overlays, captions to keep viewers hooked What it can’t do: - Add zooms - Work for videos longer than 10 minutes (when i left this limit the models seem to struggle with making good edits) - Work on mobile (Remotion is really not great on…

I blew off a bunch of "serious" side work last month and built a tiny little embeddable editing tool that I've wanted to have for Ars Technica since, well, the beginning of internet time. It lets any random user make edit suggestions for writers/editors to consider and act on. I think it's pretty cool and it's gotten some good use over the last few weeks. Of note, it's uses a single-field signup form. Edit administration is currently email based, so all it needs is an email address to get people going. I'm sure I'm not the only person to ever do this, but I basically just turned it on one…

Hey! I've been working with some friends on Bolt Foundry, a tool to help people upload long videos and download short clips to share on social platforms. It's free to use for transcription, and you can preview the clips it generates.

Frameloop is an AI-powered video creation and automation tool, that turns ideas into publishable videos within seconds. I've been working on this for past 4 months now, and have few paying customers as well. Most of them are individual creators, and about 20% are businesses. I'd like to focus more on business users going forwards, and am building branded video features for businesses. There are many other tools at this point, but my focus has been to focus on great UX, and giving users a really good first draft, which is easily editable. And I think that focus is what differentiates us. Try…

So I came across this really cool new service that works like Instapaper for video, and thought I'd share it with HN. Just got my invite today and I've been LOVING it so far. It lets me discover videos, bookmark them and watch offline on my iPad or iPhone. (My hour long subway rides without internet aren't painful anymore. Phew)

Recently there were some changes to the Twitter algorithm and one of the most important ones was boosting video content even more in the feed, which got me thinking: "Why shouldn't we benefit from the algo changes and get a boost every time we are sharing some visuals?" So I spent the weekend building a tool that: - Turns your images into videos - Has 30 beautiful animated gradients that we can pick from - Is completely FREE I'd love to know your thoughts about it!

Read an article yesterday about the H.264 codec increasing their licensing fee by an astronomical amount. And as always, my first shot was how hard could it be to try and build a codec which could be that efficient. I've personally been on a drive to improve my ability to one-shot complex features, products, or make even surgical changes. It's been a few months since I've been doing that, and honestly, results have been great for both work and work/life balance. This was a fun experiment. It burned through tokens, but it helped me identify some more improvements I could make to my…

I went nuts on Sunday after stumbling on this animator script for the automatic branch: https://github.com/Animator-Anon/Animator And then it's a ton of keyframing. I also found that the timings all have to be earlier than the timestamp you want to account for how long it takes to denoise to your new scene - so like .4 gives smoother but longer, .7 is snappy. To get stuff to keep showing up and stay dynamic you can zoom out continuously, it needs a UI, badly. If you're on windows you'll need ffmpeg too. I watched this when it came out last week:…

Hi HN, I’m Ben, long time web developer but this is my first time building a macOS app. I film a lot of tutorial and talking-head content and wanted to make it easier to chop out mistakes. So I built CutWord, a macOS app that lets you mark cue points with voice commands while you’re recording. Once the app downloads a Whisper model everything runs locally, so nothing leaves your machine. You can export a trimmed video directly from the app or export a FCPXML file that can be imported into Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve for finishing. Built with SwiftUI and AVFoundation. TestFlight:…
