Hey HN! Today we're launching Agent Vault - an open source HTTP credential proxy and vault for AI agents. Repo is at https://github.com/Infisical/agent-vault, and there's an in-depth description at https://infisical.com/blog/agent-vault-the-open-source-crede.... We built Agent Vault in response to a question that been plaguing the industry: How do we give agents secure access to services without them reading any secrets? Most teams building agents have run into this exact problem: They build an agent or agentic system and come to realize at some point…

I built a browser app for recording calls and turning them into transcripts/summaries without inviting a meeting bot. The current version is BYOK: you provide an OpenAI API key, stored locally in your browser. Recordings/projects stay in browser storage; selected audio/transcript text is sent to OpenAI only when you run transcription/summary. I am testing whether the wedge is real: no bot in the meeting, no SaaS workspace for recordings, summaries/exports afterward. I would appreciate feedback on the trust boundary and whether BYOK is acceptable for a first version.…

We built OneCLI because AI agents are being given raw API keys. And it's going about as well as you'd expect. We figured the answer isn't "don't give agents access," it's "give them access without giving them secrets." OneCLI is an open-source gateway that sits between your AI agents and the services they call. You store your real credentials once in OneCLI's encrypted vault, and give your agents placeholder keys. When an agent makes an HTTP call through the proxy, OneCLI matches the request by host/path, verifies the agent should have access, swaps the placeholder for the real…

hey HN, Jonathan and Guy here, creators of OneCLI (https://onecli.sh/). OneCLI is an open source vault for AI Agents. Traditional vaults are used to store your secrets and, on demand, provide them to you all in a secure way, trusting the person to keep them safe. We figured that in the agent's world, this is not the case, as you don't know what happens with the secret after it's delivered to the agent, or where it was saved. Or maybe someone even manipulated them to hand them over... From that understanding, we decided to build a network gateway that sits between your AI…

Keeper is an embeddable secret store (Argon2id, XChaCha20-Poly1305 by default). Four security levels, audit chains, crash-safe rotation. Vault is overkill for most use cases. This is for when you ge paranoid about env and need encrypted local storage that doesn't suck. No security through obscurity, hence, It's still early, so now's the best time to find weird edge cases, race conditions, memory leaks, crypto misuse, anything that breaks. The README has a full security model breakdown if you want to get adversarial.

Here's something I realized: the most AI-native knowledge base isn't a SaaS product with an API. It's a folder of markdown files on your disk. Obsidian stores everything as plain .md files. That means Claude Code (or any AI tool) can grep, read, write, and traverse your entire knowledge base with zero setup. No API keys. No OAuth. No middleware. Just local file I/O. The only missing piece was sync. I wanted my vault on iPhone (iCloud), on Mac (local), and on GitHub (backup + version history) — without paying $4/mo for Obsidian Sync. cc-md is ~400 lines of bash. iCloud handles Apple…

Hey HN, I wanted to share something I’ve been working on: *RAG-Guard*, a document AI that’s all about privacy. It’s an experiment in combining Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with AI-powered question answering, but with a twist — your data stays yours. Here’s the idea: you can upload contracts, research papers, personal notes, or any other documents, and RAG-Guard processes everything locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly approve it. ### How It Works - * Zero-Trust by Design*: Every step happens in your browser until you say otherwise. - * Local…
