Hi HN, I'm a computer systems engineering student in Mexico who switched from film school. I built CineGraphs because my filmmaker friends and I kept hitting the same wall—we'd have a vague idea for a film but no structured way to explore where it could go. Every AI writing tool we tried output generic, formulaic slop. I didn't want to build another ChatGPT wrapper, so I went a different route. The idea is simple: you input a rough concept, and the tool generates branching narrative paths visualized as a graph. You can sculpt those branches into a structured screenplay format and export to…

Hi Hacker News, I'm excited to share a project I've been passionately working on in my spare time: AI Movie Finder (https://www.aimoviefinder.com). The idea was born out of a simple, yet frequent, frustration: having a movie on the tip of my tongue but being unable to recall the title. All I could remember were fragments – a specific scene, a snippet of dialogue, the general plot, or even just the mood it evoked. We have a dataset of 3,095 standardized AI responses across 43 prompts. From each response, we extract a 32-dimension stylometric fingerprint (lexical richness, sentence structure, punctuation habits, formatting patterns, discourse markers). Some findings: - 9 clone clusters (>90% cosine similarity on z-normalized feature vectors) - Mistral Large 2 and Large 3 2512 score 84.8% on a composite metric combining 5 independent signals - Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite writes 78% like Claude 3 Opus. Costs 185x less - Meta has the strongest provider "house style" (37.5x distinctiveness ratio) - "Satirical…

I built this quiz after realizing how good AI has gotten at mimicking literature, speeches, and images. It's one strike and you're out. It includes AI-generated Shakespeare, fake MLK speeches, photorealistic images, and movie dialogue. I got several of my own questions wrong while building it. This isn't about testing your English degree, it's more about showing how well AI can now forge canonical cultural references. We've hit a point where the fakes are genuinely convincing. Where AI still slips up: Over-explanation (real Shakespeare is more economical) Generic metaphors vs. specific…
