Hi HN, I made a web game to practice country locations a while ago and HN liked it, so I thought I'd post my updated version as well. As for how the game works and feels, I'd really recommend you checking it out for yourself, it's free, no signup, no ads. The tech stack is Vue + ts + Tailwind/Daisy for the looks. Mentally calculating the day-of-the-week for any date in history sounds like an impossible task for a normal person, but the algorithm is actually pretty simple to learn. Although there are tutorials for this elsewhere online, and little quizzes available, there didn't seem to be anything well optimised with multiple practice modes etc. I originally created a basic version of this just for myself, but a small group of friends and family found it interesting and gave suggestions such as the daily game. I've been playing Wordle and remembered this puzzle game I used to play with my grandfather. It's inspired by the block puzzles in many newspapers but made to be shorter: just guess the nine letter word. So I made a quick thing to play with my family like we used to.
