Hi all! A little background: I've been working on natto.dev, a spatial environment for JavaScript. I'm really excited about new interfaces for code (leveraging metaphors we're good at, spatial reasoning, making state visible, design tools, etc). With all the buzz around PyScript, I discovered Pyodide and got it working inside natto. This Python version is a stripped down version of https://natto.dev (eg interactive outputs, multiplayer) so please check that out if this interests you. I'm excited to share this spatial environment for Python. Imagine Jupyter cells arranged on a 2D…

Hey HN! We're Paul, Preston, and Daniel from Zep. We've just open-sourced Graphiti, a Python library for building temporal Knowledge Graphs using LLMs. Graphiti helps you create and query graphs that evolve over time. Knowledge Graphs have been explored extensively for information retrieval. What makes Graphiti unique is its ability to build a knowledge graph while handling changing relationships and maintaining historical context. At Zep, we build a memory layer for LLM applications. Developers use Zep to recall relevant user information from past conversations without including the entire…

We’ve just open-sourced Vicinity, a lightweight approximate nearest neighbors (ANN) search package that allows for fast experimentation and comparison of a larger number of well known algorithms. Main features: - Lightweight: the base package only uses Numpy - Unified interface: use any of the supported algorithms and backends with a single interface: HNSW, Annoy, FAISS, and many more algorithms and libraries are supported - Easy evaluation: evaluate the performance of your backend with a simple function to measure queries per second vs recall - Serialization: save and load your index for…

Hey there HN! We’re Vasilije, Boris, and Laszlo, and we’re excited to introduce cognee, an open-source Python library that approaches building evolving semantic memory using knowledge graphs + data pipelines Before we built cognee, Vasilije(B Economics and Clinical Psychology) worked at a few unicorns (Omio, Zalando, Taxfix), while Boris managed large-scale applications in production at Pera and StuDocu. Laszlo joined after getting his PhD in Graph Theory at the University of Szeged. Using LLMs to connect to large datasets (RAG) has been popularized and has shown great promise.…
