Products that do what Chat with people who share the same Internet connection (= IP address) does
I built a simple, ephemeral chat service that connects you only with users who share the exact same public IP address as you. It's essentially a temporary, isolated chat room defined by your NAT gateway. It's not super useful nowadays, but let's see where this takes us. :)

Try it out on your WiFi: https://tapchat.com I’ve always been shocked at the fact that it’s easier to chat with someone on the other side of the world than with someone who is on the exact same WiFi as you. I think that is a shame because WiFi networks are essentially a bunch of existing micro-communities which your phone already automatically connects to. Hi HN, I built a location-based chatroom with Discord-like servers. This started as a portfolio project to learn WebSockets but has spiraled into something else entirely.
