Hello HN, last week, I stumbled over an old project of mine called Click The Number. I built it about six years ago to compare my clicking and reaction speed with that of my friends. The idea is simple – just click on the numbers in orders as fast as possible. I couldn't resist and rebuilt a lot of parts again, making them a bit nicer. I updated the design and added some features like a personal high score. It lets you keep track of your own best time (which makes it ever so _slightly_ more addictive). I've developed a mouse where I click by lifting my fingers instead of pressing them down. I've found that this helps with my RSI and I'm running an Indiegogo campaign (like Kickstarter) to see if others are interested in me doing a production run. Hello Hacker News! I've spent the last 6 months or so designing and building this, The Attention Button. It's an IoT desk toy that lets you send a quick nudge to whoever you hold dear, letting them know you're thinking of them. Like a direct line to their attention. It is my first major electronics project and I have learnt so much making it. I'd love to hear what you guys think!

This weekend I was looking for a side project to play around with Go so I built a simple web experiment to test the self control of the internet: it has a single button, a live click counter, and a timer. I want to see how long the internet can collectively resist clicking it. The backend is a very simple Go binary with Go's std http server, web sockets, a WAL-style log of clicks, plain CSS and Comic Sans. Hey HN! Just want to share a project of mine called Giggle. It uses Google's Programmable Search Engine service to apply allow- and block-lists to your searches in an easy way. I've shared it before[0] but just went through and refreshed/refactored a ton of things.
