Hey HN, As a Software Engineer, I frequently copy and paste content. The fact that macOS clipboard buffer can keep only one item is very frustrating. It’s very annoying to copy → switch app → paste → switch app → copy → switch app → paste, and so on. Losing items I copied hours ago and having to find and copy them again is a waste of time. I tried many third-party clipboard managers like Alfred, Raycast, Paste, Maccy, etc. While great, they didn't fully meet my needs. As a developer, my requirements are: 1. Keyboard-centric operation to avoid using the mouse. I don’t want to waste my time…

We are longtime members of HN and this is our only submission requesting feedback from the HN community on our product, Clipboard which we have been developing for the past year. Clipboard is a service to save anything online using a bookmarklet or browser extension (think Dropbox for content on the web). Clipboard is built using open source technologies, including Riak, Redis, NGINX, Node.js, and jQuery. One of our core differentiators is how we preserve the visual look and functionality of the original source, which is evident in the sample clips from github here:…

Hey HN I built a tool called ClipCapsule, a clipboard manager for Linux that's designed to be entirely keyboard-driven. Here’s what it does: Lets you recall and paste previous clipboard entries using just CTRL + SHIFT + 1~9. Keeps a history of everything you copy, in a local database. Moves selected items to the top of the clipboard stack (so CTRL + V pastes it). Built with Go + WailsJS for a fast native feel. No cloud. No telemetry. No fluff. Right now, you’ll need to run it with sudo or allow access to /dev/input/eventX for keyboard capture. We’re working on a proper daemon…

I built a small desktop tool called PasteClean to solve a personal annoyance: sharing URLs filled with tracking garbage (utm_source, fbclid, etc.). It runs in the background and automatically cleans URLs in your clipboard when you copy them. It handles 50+ tracking parameters and can also unshorten links (bit.ly, t.co) to reveal the destination and clean them before pasting. Tech stack is Electron/React/TypeScript. The core privacy features are free. I added a "Pro" lifetime license for some advanced features (unshortening, batch mode) to support development.
