I'm Varun from the Codeium team. After support for VSCode, Jetbrains, Jupyter, and Colab, we are super excited to bring free AI-powered code autocomplete to Vim and Neovim. And in the spirit of Show HN, we have a playground version for anyone to try the tech in the browser without any installation (https://www.codeium.com/playground)! We also made the vim client open source and are open to contributions.

I'm Varun, CEO of Exafunction, and we just released Codeium to open up access of generative AI to all developers for free. In the spirit of Show HN, we created a playground version for anyone to try this tech in the browser (click Try in Browser)! We have built scalable, low-latency ML infra for many top AI companies in the past, and we are excited to leverage that tech into a product that we, as developers, would love. We hope that you do too, and we would appreciate any feedback that this community has for us!

I've been exploring the (not so=) amazing potential of AI in coding and have compiled a list of tools. From AI-powered IDEs to code generators, this resource is my contribution to the community. I'm still on the fence about including txt2sql projects, as their functionality seems too basic to me. And I'm personally maintaining this, so your feedback is wellcome.

At Codeium, we've been building AI-powered extensions for a while (we first launched our VSCode extension with autocomplete a little over 2 years ago!), but we've always thought there would come a day where we would hit the limits of what could be achieved within existing IDEs, so we decided to build our own: Windsurf (yes, it's yet another VSCode fork :) We've stuffed a lot of cool features into Windsurf—a super fast autocomplete model, an inline diff generation experience that feels truly native, but we're most proud of Cascade, which is an evolution of the sidebar chat experience that…

Small team down here in South New Zealand just launched CodeLink. In short its an IDE (VSCode/JetBrains) plugin that lets you share blocks of code that link directly to the code inside your IDE or repo. We use it all the time and think its pretty nifty tech that lets you understand someone’s code in context very quickly. we’re hoping to keep refining it to make it better and more useful.
