CRProxy is a new reverse web proxy service. We have a generous free plan that includes the ability to use custom domains and semi-custom sub-domains. We have reasonably priced plans with good bandwidth and no additional usage charges. Please give it a try and let me know what you think. Thank you, David

I created an enhanced fork of the popular MacProxy project called MacProxy Plus, which makes it possible to browse the modern web on vintage hardware. You run MPP on a machine on your local network and configure the Mac (or other vintage computer) to use it as a proxy server. MPP converts HTTPS to HTTP, strips out CSS, JavaScript, and other tags the Mac's browser doesn't recognize, then serves super-simplified HTML that actually loads pretty fast on the nearly 40 year old machine. Custom handling is enabled by "extensions" (individual python scripts) which intercept requests for given…

I'm working at Sauce Labs on a fast MITM proxy. If you are using mitmproxy, Fiddler or Charles proxy in your job I believe you'll find it invaluable. Forwarder 1.1 is now available, complete with a Grafana Dashboard for effortless monitoring. We are committed to making it great. I welcome your feedback. Cheers Michał

Threw together this very specific proxy that allows the downstream to define which IP will be used for the proxied request, and has built-in rate limiting mechanism to coordinate upstream rate limiting across clients. This is particularly useful when you have a proxy node with many IPs, and you either want to use a specific one, or rotate through them. It also helps prevent upstream rate limiting due to disjoint clients being unable to coordinate on rate limits. Opus was largely able to one-shot each feature from my specs, which was pretty cool (shows how effective a spec is).

There is a growing number of companies offering anti-bot protection SaaS to protect websites from scraping by automated bots based on Puppeteer/Selenium. Most of them rely on browser properties such as headers, javascript properties (window., navigator.), behavior analysis, to build device/user fingerprints and match it against a database of "whitelisted" fingerprints (typical user behavior/settings/device props etc). For the past few months, together with two other devs I have worked on a customized Puppeteer/Playwright scraping backend. It's essentially a drop-in…

Hey HN, We made an Envoy Proxy playground [0] so we could test out our Envoy configs directly in the browser. This is based on Julia's work with Nginx Playround. [1] We forked that repo and added more Envoy to it. [2] Check it out! [0] - Envoy is a popular programmable proxy similar to Nginx or HAProxy that is popular with cloud-native setups: https://www.envoyproxy.io [1] - https://nginx-playground.wizardzines.com [2] - https://github.com/apoxy-dev/envoy-playground
