I couldn't find a simple way to explore the Brazilian startup ecosystem geographically, as I can in other places like the Bay Area or London, so I built one. The map currently includes hundreds of startups from Sao Paulo and their job opportunities. The most interesting thing I've learned so far is how clustered startup activity is in a handful of areas. I’m often asking myself What was the name of that startup doing X? So I decided to build a directory of startups, but group them by the space(s) they operate in. - Every day new startups and spaces are featured - Use the search bar to search for specific startups or search for spaces semantically - Future plans include allowing contributions from users, more detailed startup profiles, and tracking of events (fundraise, product launch, etc.) of listed startups.

Hey Everybody! Hope you had a merry christmas Today I had a bit of fun with Claude. Started by scraping YC's startups list, then ran them through OpenAI's embedding service, then UMAP'd the embedding to reduce the dimension to just two coordinates and then just forced Claude to write React that would compile to visualize that. I had fun and I think it's interesting, so take a look! Also note that you won't be able to zoom on mobile (found about this Plotly limitation way too late). If there's interest I can fix this issue by changing plotting libs tomorrow :) Merry christmas
