Products that do what custom landing page for press day -- wise or unwise? does
We knew we were going to get a bunch of press today after releasing the news of closing our round -- so we decided to build a custom landing page for folks coming from the publications that ran stories about us. (You can see it here: edulender.com/march8. Our normal home page is here: edulender.com/) We will publish some summary stats here in an update in the next day or two -- but we'd like to know what y'all think about this method. Wise or unwise? Enlighten us.

Hello HN, www.LandingGear.me is designed specifically for building single page landing pages. Our first MVP got a good response with a few hundred people visiting and downloading templates. I've just launched a landing page for an ebook that I hope to have out sometime in June but I feel like that dog in the meme "I have no idea what I'm doing."[1] I am not a designer (or copywriter) but I've been hanging out on HN long enough to have a good idea where to go for help. I used Bootstrap[2] for a template, Colour Lovers[3] for a palette and Weebly's homepage[4] for inspiration. Weebly's homepage is fantastic but as much as I tried to keep it simple and powerful, like Weebly, I kept getting bogged down in massive amounts copy. I built this app because I really enjoyed "Pulse" but I felt it lacked a few things. I wanted a web-based version, I wanted my news articles grouped together by topic, and I wanted an easy way to share with other people. It is early in the site's life, so somethings are missing, including the critical mobile app. If you have any feedback to give, it would be appreciated!

We hatched this idea of a Kickstarter + Groupon + Etsy model last week, threw up a super simple landing page that day, then launched a more detailed landing page last night. What do you think of the idea as a whole? The landing page itself? We launched using a WordPress setup just to limit our risk on development (e.g. produce an MVP), so I would hope that is not the feedback (but if it is, so be it). Hello HN I visit a few sites news sites daily and wanted to see the headlines all on one page and also have it update itself throughout the day. It is not finished yet, but is usable enough to share. If you want to make a custom page, you can click the 'build your custom page' at the top, and select the feeds that are of interest to you. I've been working on this (mostly) myself for quite a while. It's a lean online press office, where companies can post their latest press releases or news together with 140 character max titles, which will be listed on the main page by latest as well as by category. The vision is to cut out the barrage of spam that feature journalists get in the mailboxes by offering them a portal (with RSS feeds) to access releases from (or at least be one of the options). HN, With an overwhelming amount of tech news being reported every day - I have always struggled to find the time to read the articles, even when I want to. So I created a solution for myself where I extract key points of the articles and present them as bullet points, for readability.
