Hi, HN! Excited to share a Chrome Extension I've been working on in my spare time. In short, it lets you create your own right-click menu commands that are executed by GPT-4. There are a few built-in commands for common tasks like summarization and correcting text, but my hope is that people get creative and customize it with their own, more tailored commands. Made this (GPT-4 made this actually) for myself mainly to do quick lookups on selected text. Add your api key and then your own system prompts in options. Then from context menu send selected text to ChatGPT with one of your prompts. Result should appear on top of page. I haven't looked much into publishing this on store yet, might do that later. At the moment, you have to load this in Developer mode via Load Unpacked button on extensions page in chrome. Tip: if you have only one prompt enabled, context menu will not be nested.

I made this tool for myself back in October after GPT-4 Vision came out. Being able to press Option+C, write a quick question, and hit Enter, with only the screenshot of the current tab as the context was a quick flow that I found very useful. I know there are most certainly more polished solutions out there now, but as we wait for the ChatGPT desktop app with builtin vision support I figured I'd release this now under an MIT license for whoever might find it useful. Was getting annoyed copy-pasting stuff from websites into ChatGPT all the time, basically wished Cursor's CMD+K worked everywhere. So I built a little Chrome extension, InPageAI, that tries to do just that: https://inpageai.com Hit a shortcut on any page, it grabs the context automatically, and you can ask AI to summarize, explain, etc. You can also use it to write directly into input fields/text boxes.
