Products that do what Dating website where ladies get paid does

Happy new year fellow HNers! This is my first Show HN... and it's a dating website. The crowd here is not my target market, so I'm not looking for SEO/traffic, but looking for feedbacks. Lots of it. I'm fully prepared that I'll get bashed due to the nature of my product. What: An online Indonesian dating website where the ladies get paid if their date sucks. That "paid" part is just a gimmick (the feature is not fully implemented) which seems to work. So far nobody questions the lack of implementation. If people do need it, I'll implement it. Why: I want to quit my job and "do startup" but I…

http://www.percodate.com/ - DO NOT PAY FOR THE SITE. Use code HEYHN if you want to sign up. I've had some experience with website development, but I'm not technical whatsoever. So I went on craigslist (in Los Angeles) to look for an engineer to build a dating site. Luckily, I found someone amazing. We agreed on $4,000 in milestone payments and $6,000 in potential bonuses if the site does well. We recently launched the site and would love your feedback. I know the design is lacking, but any feedback would be appreciated!!

My partner and I are developing an app at the moment which gives people the opportunity to crowdsource dating advice exclusively from people of the opposite sex. That is, women seek advice from men, and vice versa. The fundamental concept is to break down the barriers of communication between men and women and give people a more reliable source of advice than the usual channels such as friends - who can either be notoriously unreliable or sadly may not have the best intentions. People would post information anonymously about their situation by way of a short message and would also have the…

This past weekend at Startup Weekend MKE, a great team of people and I worked on a networking website that focuses on women entrepreneurs. The website is meant to serve as a way for women entrepreneurs to connect, get advice from others, and see events posted in their area. It is not exclusively for women, but the idea is to help decrease the gender gap in the startup community. Please check out our website and sign up if you are interested.(www.goconnectgrow.co) Abby

Hello everyone! I know there are already a few "Who Is Hiring" aggregators, but I wanted to show off what I've done. My project was cancelled right before Christmas, so this project was a great way to blow off some steam while procrastinating looking for a new job. Tangentially, I am looking for new career opportunities if your company needs a full stack web developer, lol. This website was completed in about a week and a half. I wanted to present it in a Show HN post on Jan 2 when the usual Who Is Hiring posts were featured, but I didn't think it had enough features to make it useful. Even…

I've been quietly learning web development for about a year now after getting intoxicated by the media darling startup scene back when it was REALLY going mainsteam with the release of the social network. So I drank that koolaid and joined the club and I resolved to create a semi-competent web dev from my humble highschool CS 1 roots. A year's gone by and my first project is finally done. It's a simple online dating app that tries to make online dating appeal to a more casual crowd while removing a few of the major pitfalls of current online dating websites, most notably fear of rejection,…

Hey guys, I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my new site that I have put into private beta this weekend. In summary it is a site for photographers, graphic designers and web designers to get private feedback on their work. There are plenty of sites out there were we can post our work and get it seen but sometimes you need to be able to get some feedback before having it on a public display. This is part 1 of the longer term plan. The beta has the basics to enable users to review each others work, the number of images are limited at the minute but I will be extending…

Today we've launched happytables ( http://www.happytables.com ), a squarespace / wordpress.com for restaurants. I had posted on HN before about a previous iteration we performed ( http://bit.ly/sn0FWc ), and am really satisfied how far we've gotten with it all. The entire solution is built on top of WordPress, it's allowed us to quickly prototype and build various components. It'll be interesting to see if other solutions pop-up for unrelated niche markets using WordPress too (i.e. real estate, sports clubs, etc.). Would love to hear your feedback on our concept and would gladly answer any…

Hey HN, My site http://RealtyPerks.com, just went live a few days ago and I have always sifted through HN admiring and gaining advice from everyone out there, so I thought I would show my start up, and would love any feedback from the HN community. It's far from done but it gets the message across. We have been establishing relationships with Realtors on the northeast and are gearing up to start Rewarding some new homeowners. Real Estate isn't sexy, and is hardly ever attacked my entrepreneurs, even though its a 60 Billion dollar market. Although recently sites like 42floors have come up and…

Hello everyone, I doubt this would be relevant to the kind of person who uses HN, but I thought I could share for some feedback. I built this site because there is a whole world of people who believe in new age spirituality and I am very much one of them. It is a site where you get the users gender their goals and their images and use AI and psychology to generate images of them in the process of achieving their goals. I am so deeply struggling with how to get this highly on Google. I don't even know if that is important anymore. What are your suggestions with distribution and getting in…

Howdy HN! First off, I have to say I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time! Over 3000 days ago I joined HN with the goal of eventually posting a “Show HN” for a startup I co-founded. Today, I get to finally do that with Parlor! I owe a ton to this community and truly believe I’ve learned something from HN just about every day since. Any feedback you have on Parlor would be greatly appreciated - even what you hate about it! (I mean you can’t really build a platform like ours if you’re averse to feedback.) Parlor is what we call a customer collaboration platform, and it’s…

I've been frustrated by so many blogging platforms. Last I used Ghost. I thought it was expensive and I hated that www I had to prefix on custom domain. So, I built https://lykhari.com just for myself and then opened for public. If you want something simple do try. It became profitable and hence self sustaining!

Hey HN, I've been a long time HN reader and here is my first contribution. Hoodsup.me is a chat-based matchmaking app built on top of your Facebook social graph. It matchmakes you with people who are geographically close to you and with whom you share common points. You can optionally activate your webcam to talk face-to-face with your partner. Think of it as a Sonar meets a genital-free Chatroulette. I would love to get some feedback. It's only optimized for WebKit for now. No signup is required so just stop by and say hi! :) Clickable link: <a…

[1/2] Thursday evening (Mar 26) we made a soft launch for https://uidesigndaily.com (a UI website that I built for my wife) The goal was to get some feedback, fix bugs and get about 30-40 subscribers in the mailing list, to see how the newsletter performs. The launch went better than expected, and the feedback was generally positive. Below are some numbers for those interested. I posted it to 4 channels, IH, HN, Reddit and Twitter. It was best received on HN with 203 points, it made it in the top 10, and it stayed on the front page for a good while. Reddit also surprised me, I…

Hi HN! I'm quite new to HN so I'm sorry if I don't do a well built post (in terms of form) as you are probably used to. My name is João Romão, from Portugal, and I'm one of the co-founders of Wishareit, a place for collaborative gifting with your friends and family. Everybody loves gifts but sometimes finding a gift is a really hard task. And the consequence is painful: you get ugly clothes, bad books and.. cactuses. We reached out and discovered that 40% of all gifts in the US in 2011 were considered to be crap and that 83% of people had trouble when looking for a gift. That's a really…
