Our team is filled with technologists and creators, and when we record and edit videos, 80% of the time is spent chopping up the video, removing silences, and picking the right takes. So we decided to build a tool that did that for you — or at least get you there most of the way! Our initial implementation is somewhat naïve and uses a user configurable silence threshold that just reads in volume levels. In the future, we’d like to use a frequency-based approach that focuses on the human voice. We’re also open to ideas, so let us know if you have any!

This is based on an approach I made for a very high performance message and video multiplexing server. The project died, but I'm glad I get to share the a basic version with some http test code now. I admit this is the second time I've tried to show this off here today; I posted earlier but it got lost when no-one was watching :(

Hey HN! Last week I was working on a website and needed a way to synchronise visuals with live music. I've used MIDI controllers for this before, but I am travelling right now and don't have mine with me. So I had the crazy idea to build a browser extension that uses the keyboard as input and includes a sequencer. I gave myself 24 to work on it. It ended up taking longer (of course), specially since I ended up creating a demo, a small landing, docs, and an intro video. Took me one week from idea to launch (pushed quite a bit tbh). Features: - Works as a browser extension. Atm distributed…

Hi, I am kind of hesitant to post this because I wrote this myself and it's definitely not polished but I thought people might find it useful considering some of the music related things I have seen posted here. This doesn't have anything fancy like a recommendation system or pretty ui but it makes it very easy to listen to music and keep a history of what you've listened to. If it means anything, this is the only thing I use for music playing. Features: - Everything is a text file (queue, your listen/artist history)! - Mpv as music player (you can control or get info using the ipc…

Hey everyone, I've built a multiplayer audio recorder/looper for songwriting in your browser. It started as a side project in March last year but 3 months ago I quit my job to work on it full-time. I wanted the simplicity of a Portastudio and the utility of a loop station to serve as an easy way to get song ideas together without needing to send files back and forth, or get lost in the complexity of traditional DAWs up front - just record or upload your ideas and share the link with whoever you want to collaborate with. Would love to hear what you think of it! Any feedback, thoughts, or…

Hi HN, I’m one of the devs behind StarDesk, a P2P-first remote desktop we’ve been building for ~1 year. We started this partly out of frustration: some popular RDP tools haven’t seen meaningful updates in a long time, and long-standing issues are often left unaddressed. As devs, we really dislike software that stagnates once it “works well enough”. StarDesk is our attempt to do it differently. What we focus on: -P2P by default (relay as fallback) -Low RTT + low jitter > chasing max bitrate -Encoder / input path tuned for real-time interaction -Modern E2EE (TLS/DTLS) UX-wise, setup…

I went nuts on Sunday after stumbling on this animator script for the automatic branch: https://github.com/Animator-Anon/Animator And then it's a ton of keyframing. I also found that the timings all have to be earlier than the timestamp you want to account for how long it takes to denoise to your new scene - so like .4 gives smoother but longer, .7 is snappy. To get stuff to keep showing up and stay dynamic you can zoom out continuously, it needs a UI, badly. If you're on windows you'll need ffmpeg too. I watched this when it came out last week:…

For a fun side weekend project we gave our own OpenClaw agent called "Mahmut" a face and had a live interview with it. It went surprisingly well. Here's a sneak peek from the interview: https://x.com/ptservlor/status/2024597444890128767 User speaks, Deepgram transcribes it, OpenClaw Gateway routes it to your agent, ElevenLabs turns the response into speech, and LemonSlice generates a lip synced avatar from the audio. Everything streams over LiveKit in real time. Latency is about 1 to 2 seconds end to end depending on the LLM. The lip sync from LemonSlice honestly…
