Hi HN, I'm Adriano, one of the makers of Vaultrice. I'm excited (and a little nervous!) to share what we've been building. For years, we found ourselves in a frustrating loop: whenever we needed a simple real-time feature—like a "who's online" list, a collaborative app, or just sharing state between a marketing site and our main app — we'd end up spending days setting up the same stack or discarded to do it. Setting it up, it always involved wiring together a database, a WebSocket server, an API, and managing the connection state. It felt like massive overkill for what we were trying to…

A few months ago I took out my side project - an uptime & SSL monitoring service - from the drawer. I've decided to give it a new life and completely overhauled it, added a lot of new feature, and most importantly, a UI. Highlights - configurable uptime & SSL monitoring - Telegram, Slack, PagerDuty & E-mail notifications (more to come!) - fully-fledged REST API - a responsive, modern & fast UI - monitors are optionally configurable via a single YAML file, or you can choose to use either the UI or the API to maintain them - Cloud-native, distributed as amd64 and arm64 images - Only one…

Hey! I just launched TimeSlate.app — a completely free web app to help students stay focused and organized with zero friction. Let me start by saying thank you for taking the time to review it. I hope it is useful to someone. It can be downloaded and reviewed at no cost with the following offer code: hackernews, to be entered during the purchasing process. Reviews on the software itself, and marketing advice on how to grow sales is appreciated. Site: http://baileyssoftware.com/ Notes: - I am aware of the @gmail address used, but I don't want to pay for a service (e.g. https://gsuite.google.com/) until I have the monthly income to support it. - If there is enough interest I plan to add…

Hi everyone! I’ve been working on a small personal finance tool called Tender for the better part of a year. I got tired of doing expenses by hand - going through several accounts to figure out refunds, subscription cancellations, getting paid back via venmo, etc. I’d get to the point where I’d have to go through months of transactions at a time if I got lazy and fell behind. The workflow in Tender is centered around getting to inbox-zero. Transactions leave the inbox when they’re categorized and there’s a basic rules engine for automation. You can also do things like add notes, set…

Minimal online date calculators and timers: pomodoro, countdown, stopwatch, alarm clock. Pomodoro is easily configurable with the ability to add additional timers and to set predefined break activities. I like to add a few leg and core exercises (variations of squat and plank) and some stretching. Helps me to remember to move away from the monitor and relax the brain.
