Late last year, I was digging into some dependency-related tech debt, and struggling with how long it takes to run pnpm's introspection commands like 'pnpm why' in a medium-size monorepo. Hi all! I've built a small tool to visualize how inefficient `docker pull` is, in preparation for standing up a new Docker registry + transport. It's bugged me for a while that updating one dependency with Docker drags along many other changes. It's a huge problem with Docker+robotics. Built this as a guide for users of my hosting service. Everything here was run on a real instance. The Mesa/LLVM dependency is genuinely painful on a 1GB disk, and I couldn't find a way around it. WindowMaker won the window manager battle purely on dependency chain cleanliness; it pulls in no GTK, no Python, no audio stack. Happy to answer questions about any of the choices made. I built this because I was tired of creating pull requests in 20 repositories just to change a single line of workflow job version. With Infra as AI, just mention the change. Hi HN! Flocklist.app is a minimalist, private dependency tracker. I mostly just built this for myself, since I would sit down to work, look at my to-do list, and I couldn't do 2/3 of the tasks. None of the solutions to this really cut it, either because they are a little clunky or are enterprise scale (like Jira, Linear, you know the rest). I figure I can't be the only one with this problem, so I built this free app to fix it. (It also doesn’t store tasks in the cloud.) I would love to hear any feedback you have!

Over the last few weeks, I worked on a set of tools which enables (1) a modern workflow to build customized images for Raspberry Pi, (2) robust over-the-air updates with rollback support of the entire system, including firmware files, and (3) managed state which is preserved across reboots and updates.
