24 alternatives to Design.MD
Feels a bit like Figma, but for coding agents. Instead of going back and forth with prompts, you give the agent a DESIGN.md that defines the design system up front, and it generally sticks to it when generating UI. Google Stitch seems to be moving in this direction as a standard, so we put together a small collection of DESIGN.md files based on popular web sites.
Figma for Coding Agents is a tool that helps coding agents generate user interfaces by following a predefined design system. Instead of iterating through multiple prompts, users provide a DESIGN.md file upfront that… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes.

Figr AI▲503Built Figr AI because I got tired of AI builder tools market themselves as design tools and end up skipping the hard part. Every tool I tried would jump straight to screens. But that's not how product design actually works. You don't just design screens. You think through the problem first. The flows, the edge cases, the user journey, where people will get stuck. Then the design comes finally. Figr does that thinking layer first. It parses your existing product via a chrome extension or takes in screen-records, then works through the problem with you before designing. Surfaces edge cases,…

I'm Dan, and I built a CLI that lets AI agents design in Figma. What it does: 100 commands to create shapes, text, frames, components, modify styles, export assets. JSX importing that's ~100x faster than any plugin API import. Works with any LLM coding assistant. Why I built it: The official Figma MCP server can only read files. I wanted AI to actually design — create buttons, build layouts, generate entire component systems. Existing solutions were either read-only or required verbose JSON schemas that burn through tokens.
