I got tired of Claude hallucinating Swift APIs. It does a good job at Python and TypeScript, but ask it about SwiftUI and it's basically guessing. The problem? Apple's docs are JavaScript-rendered, so when you paste URLs into AI tools, they just see a blank page. Copy-pasting works but... c'mon. So I built something that converts Apple Developer docs to clean markdown. Just swap developer.apple.com with sosumi.ai in any Apple docs URL and you get AI-readable content. For example: - Before: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swift/double - After:…

Hi HN! I'm excited to share a project I've been working on for the past year: Docland. It is an API documentation browser that generates documentation on demand (through compilation, not LLMs) for Java packages. Instead of relying on Javadoc, the built-in doc generator, I created the engine from scratch to give the documentations a modern look, build fast search indexes, and enable link resolution to other packages. I built Docland because I constantly found it frustrating to locate and view API definitions when programming. You'd have to Google the function/class name, skip all the SEO…

Hello all To preface this is just something I've been making as a learning exercise, so all feedback is appreciated. This is a tool that converts JSON schemas into TypeScript utility classes for use in Deno. Automatic Type Generation: Typescript interfaces for the compressed and uncompressed versions of your data. Compression & Decompression: Compress and decompress your data. Validation: Built-in data validation using Ajv ensures your data adheres to the schema. Reusability: Once generated, the utility classes can be used in other Deno projects. It currently only supports a subset of JSON…

Hi HN, I'm a freelance developer, and I built SnazzyPDF in my spare time to solve a problem I encountered frequently: converting structured data into PDF documents. The existing solutions I found either required manually creating a template or forced you to transform your data into a specific structure. I wanted a tool where you could simply input arbitrary JSON data and get a decent-looking document out. That's why I built SnazzyPDF. * Works with any JSON: No need to restructure your data. SnazzyPDF handles (almost) any JSON data, including deeply nested arrays and objects. * Use REST API…

Hi all, Super excited to share that I am building Dev-Docs, and I wanted to create a post to get other developers' thoughts. Background: Developers know how important it is to document their codebases, but often, it's an afterthought that ends up taking a lot of time and effort. That's where Dev-Docs comes in - a solution that helps developers document as they code, making the process easier and more efficient. Features: Dev-Docs handles both internal documentation for teams and external documentation around APIs and codebases for customers and partners. Internal Documentation: Dev-Docs…

Hi guys, I've worked on several apps in the past couple of years, and found that it takes too much effort going from having an idea to building an app and having the world use it. I wanted a way to have an idea, turn it into a fully functional native app, and share it with the world, all in the next 5 minutes, as quick and as easy as writing a blog post. That's why I built Jason. Basically Jason lets you build a native interface to display and interact with any data format (csv, rss, html, json), any website, any API in any way you want, simply by writing a JSON markup and loading it.…
