24 alternatives to DomainOptic: The All-in-One Toolkit

I built a tool that scans deployed websites for secrets in production bundles and forgotten API endpoints. https://domainoptic.com/audit Unlike repo scanners (TruffleHog, Gitleaks), this scans what's actually live. What an attacker sees when they view source or probe common paths. Tested it on 20 sites from Hacker News over the last two days. All indie projects, side hustles, Show HN launches. Results: - 1 site had 6 actual secrets (1 cloud credential, 5 API keys) - 5 sites (25%) had exposed API documentation (/swagger, /graphql, /api-docs) - 2 sites had…

hey guys, wanted to show one of my side projects i just made public. the idea is basically another osint tool for pentesters and bug bounty hunters. it watches certificate transparency logs and checks newly-seen domains for exposed stuff like .env files, open .git dirs, config files, db dumps and so on, and puts whatever it finds into a searchable db. you just search a domain (or part of one) and see what's exposed. it's read-only and free. one thing i've been thinking about adding is a way to register for certain keywords and get notified when something new shows up for that search. would…

Hey all, Justin here. I previously built Phind, the AI search engine for developers. One of the biggest problems we had there was figuring out what went wrong with bad searches. We had tons of searches per day, but less than 1% of users gave any explicit feedback. So we were either manually digging through searches or making general system improvements and hoping they helped. This problem gets harder with agents. Traces are longer and more complex. It takes more effort to review them, so I'm building a tool that lets you analyze LLM outputs directly to help developers of LLM apps and agents…

I built a tool that scans AI platforms with buyer questions relevant to your domain and shows you whether they mention you or not. Enter your domain, it generates queries based on your space, sends them to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI, then scores you out of 100 based on how often you show up in the responses. The part I think is actually useful: it doesn't just tell you the problem. It shows you which queries you're missing from, why, and gives you fix pages (structured content designed to be citable by LLMs) and weekly action plans. Free scan on the homepage, no signup needed. Tech:…

I built this after seeing multiple teams accidentally ship API keys in their frontend code. The problem: Modern web development moves fast. You're vibe-coding, shipping features, and suddenly your AWS keys are sitting in a tag visible to anyone who opens DevTools. I've personally witnessed this happen to at least 3-4 production apps in the past year alone. KeyLeak Detector runs through your site (headless browser + network interception) and checks for 50+ types of leaked secrets: AWS/Google keys, Stripe tokens, database connection strings, LLM API keys (OpenAI, Claude, etc.), JWT…

Phishcan provides crucial threat intelligence, and it currently tracks phishing domains for: • Scotiabank, Desjardins, RBC, Interac… • Telecom providers, provincial power and health services... • Federal & provincial services, CRA, Canada Post, Service Canada, Revenue Québec... How Phishcan works: • Parsing millions of domains: Continuously scanning and analyzing vast numbers of domains to detect suspicious patterns and potential phishing sites. • Monitoring threat actors : close watch on cyber‑criminal infrastructures and their new domain registrations. • Data enrichment : adding contextual…

Last week I wrote about building a scanner that writes its own exploits. A cron job runs Claude Code every night, it reads new CVEs, writes proof-of-concept checks, tests them against vulnerable and patched Docker instances, and opens PRs. I review and merge in the morning. That post was about how t

I tend to use AI to brainstorm domain names, but I kept wasting time pasting each idea into Namecheap to see if they were available. So I built DotComBuddy - it generates ideas (using DeepSeek V3 - switched from GPT-4o after realizing quality was just as good) and checks availability in real time via Name.com’s API. Built with Next.js and Vercel’s AI SDK, the app gives you a table of available domains with their price. 10 free searches to try it out, then $9/year (what I’d pay to never do this manually again). Sharing this for anyone else tired of switching tabs to check domains. Happy…

I built it for myself because ngrok didn't let me add one more domain unless I paid $12 more. I probably should've looked for alternatives before building my own, but my grudge got in the way . Once I started, I wanted to make it better than the other options. Silly, I know. No one probably cares. I plan to open source it sometime next year because I’ve got other projects to finish first. It's free until I deplete my cloud credits, then it will switch to a tier-based model with a free option.

For at least a few years (since before COVID), in my circle everbody wants an AI tool that finds vulnerabilities in binaries. I have my reservations about such a tool because of my perception that AI is overhyped, so I decided to build one myself to see how useful it could be (or not). I was actually kinda surprised how well it worked for my collection of binaries with known CVEs. It definitely has false positives and negatives, as any static analysis tool would, but I think its actually somewhat usable. I dont think the results are super actionable, but interesting nonetheless. I still…

I built CodeQuest SEO Checker because I couldn't find a tool that clearly diagnoses structured data (JSON-LD/Schema.org) alongside basic SEO. It checks 45+ items across 4 categories: - Structured Data (JSON-LD/Schema.org) - Basic SEO (title, meta, headings) - Content quality - Technical SEO (HTTPS, mobile, speed) Free: 10 checks/month, no sign-up needed. Would love your feedback!

Hi HN, I built DomainExplorer.io, a search and analytics tool that lets you explore newly registered and expired domains across all TLDs — updated daily. The idea came from my frustration how hard it is to search for registered/expired domains. I wanted a simple and easy-to-use tool with web UI where you could submit queries like: - Find all domains in .com and .net zones that end with "chatgpt". - Find all expired domains that have "copilot" substring in name (excluding .ai and .io zones) and their name is shorter than 12 symbols - Find all domains with "amazon" in name and that were…

I built a simple tool that suggests good domain names based on your idea, something I usually spend way too long on myself. It's free, no sign-up needed, 5 searches / day (a bit wonky, working on that part). Mainly built it for myself but would love some feedback and tips for improvement! :) Thanks!

Hey HN! Built this after watching engineering teams repeatedly get surprised by AI API invoices — no visibility into spend until the bill landed. TokenWatch connects to your OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini keys and gives you: - Real-time spend dashboard across projects - Budget thresholds with proactive alerts - Anomaly detection for unusual cost spikes - Duplicate call detection (biggest source of wasted spend I've seen) Free tier supports up to 3 AI systems. Built this in ~2 days as a solo project. Happy to answer anything about the build or the problem space.
