Hello HN, My girlfriend and I waste too much energy to decide what to eat. I recently built an iOS app called Settld: Group Restaurant Finder that helps friends decide where to meet by finding restaurants that are roughly equally far from everyone’s location, and displaying information about them. We’ve all been in chaotic group chats where no one can agree on where to eat — this app cuts through that by calculating a “sweet spot” for the group. For 2 people, it’s the midpoint. I grew tired of being front-run by people (or perhaps other bots) who do not sleep. So I built a better bot and open-sourced it to level the playing field. Within a week I had a reservation for four at my restaurant of choice. Feedback welcome, enjoy!

I like going out with my fiancé and tasting new dishes in new places. Once I get to a place I've been before I never remember what I previously ate. So we decided to sit down and think of something we could do to help solve this and came up with our first project together.
