24 alternatives to Dynamically Generated Fluid UI's
This sits inside Balladic, which my team and I have been bootstrapping over the past year. You're welcome to check it out if you're interested, but I think the part most of you would be interested in is the on-the-fly generated narration UI's. This is more of a conceptual flyover than a technical one, but ask if you're interested in the behind-the-scenes, and ye shall receive. Sort of true to the name, Balladic, we generate a new Narrative page for all users every night, as well as ballad/project-specific narratives for every single ballad. The presentation aims at something like a book…
Dynamically Generated Fluid UI's is a feature within Balladic, a bootstrapped platform that automatically creates personalized narrative pages for users each night. The system generates dynamic interfaces that present… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Hey HN, My cofounder and I trained an AI music generation model and after a month of testing we're launching 1.0 today. Ours is interesting because it's a latent diffusion model instead of a language model, which makes it more controllable: https://sonauto.ai/ Others do music generation by training a Vector Quantized Variational Autoencoder like Descript Audio Codec (https://github.com/descriptinc/descript-audio-codec) to turn music into tokens, then training an LLM on those tokens. Instead, we ripped the tokenization part off and replaced it with a normal…

This is an web audio experiment I've been wanting to do for a long time. Basically an ambient music composition, but all the sound elements are laid out in space, and that musical space can be explored freely. It's definitely inspired by in-world music that sometimes appears in games. I basically took that concept, keeping the music aspect, and dropping the entire "game" aspect. I also turned it into a more "traditional" non-interactive album, but since I started with code, why not program the whole thing? Had a blast making the entire album from code, the complete source for the album is…

I generated 70k audiobooks with OpenAI Text-to-Speechfree tier, from $15/mo▲140Hey HN. I’m Ivan, hacker from Ukraine. For about a year, I was working on Listenly — an app to listen to text content with OpenAI's natural-sounding text-to-speech model. At some moment, I realized that it would be cool to take all the public domain e-books and create audio versions for them. So I did it... kind-of. It would cost an immense amount of money to generate all the audio right away (OpenAI TTS costs approximately $0.84/hour of audio; 11labs, for comparison, is 10 times more expensive). So, I took a more gradual approach. I took all the metadata from the Project Gutenberg…

Hey HN, We built a different kind of AI benchmark for UI generation. Instead of static leaderboards or curated screenshots, you can watch multiple models generate the same design live, side-by-side, and decide which output is actually better. Under the hood, we call AI models from Anthropic (Opus), OpenAI (GPT), Google (Gemini), and Moonshot AI (Kimi). Each model generates a real, editable project using Tailwind CSS (not screenshots or canvas exports). You can export it for Next.js, Laravel (Blade), Symfony (Twig), WordPress, or plain HTML. What we noticed building this: * Popular benchmarks…

I had 2 weeks off from work and wanted a pet project before heading back. With GPT and Generative AI in the news, I decided to chain multiple Al products together to build something really cool. I set my end goal to be: prompt-to-storyboard (aka fun videos generated purely via generative AI). There exists some prompt-to-video products, but I wanted to tell stories with audio as well. The end product takes an initial prompt and produces a series of images and audio files, which I then combine (with subtitles) into the final video. To showcase videos, there is a basic upvote/downvote…

Just finished my second year at college studying Computer Science, and wanted to try and gain experience as a full stack dev this summer, so I made a website that allows users to create stories using openai's API, using embeddings for custom terms users can define, and create short stories and chapters alike. I'm mainly just looking for some feedback on how I can improve it or make it more presentable, so any help/feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Hi everyone! Want to share something I'm working on. Here is the brief description: From a single text prompt, craft dynamic worlds (both fictional and real-life, of any kind) filled with interacting NPCs pursuing goals, and control (human-in-the-loop) their behaviour and world state in real-time. Text-to-image to visualise every single step of change in the world's and NPC's state. My main goal was to check if it's possible to use LLMs (GPT-4 currently) to make characters interact with each other but in the end, it ended up with a neat little app where users can interfere with NPC's (and…

Hey HN, I've used Generative.fm for years and love it, but I always wanted to just describe what I was in the mood for instead of scrolling through presets. So I built this. You type a text description of anything - from "mountain sunrise" to "neon city" - and it generates a procedural/ambient stream matching that mood. It runs locally, no account, no tracking, no ads. Under the hood it's a custom synthesizer driven by sentence embeddings, not a generative AI model (although you can choose to use one!) — so there's no GPU, no API calls, and it starts playing almost instantly. The whole…

I like the idea of taking one thing and turning it into another—very much inspired by NotebookLM and wondered what it might take to generate full graphic novels, with consistent characters, narrative flow, story arc, etc. Developed a 7-pass scripting enrichment system (beat analysis, adaptation filtering, character deep dives) before generating any images. Dual backend: Google Gemini for scripting (2M context window) and either Gemini or OpenAI for image generation with 3-tier model fallback (comparing the performance of both). It's not great. Would love feedback on the pipeline.

Novel AI▲13Hi HN, I built a simple "AI Story Generator app" to help users create stories, books, novels, or short creative writing pieces with the help of AI. Features: - AI-powered story generation - Choose genres like fantasy, horror, romance, or sci-fi - Generate stories based on custom prompts - Export and share easily Why I built it: I noticed many people (especially casual writers and students) struggle with writer’s block or just want to play with creative storytelling. This app tries to make that easier and more fun. I’d love feedback from the HN community: - Which features would make an AI…

I’ve been a fandom writer for a long time and also a very deep Tumblr user (like… headcanons, incorrect quotes, character analysis at 2am kinda deep). Writing has always been how I have fun w/ characters and stories I love. I’m also a dev, and at some point I noticed smth pretty obvious: I love writing, but inspo doesn’t always show up when I want it to. Sometimes I really wanna write headcanons or relationship stuff, but my brain just goes empty lol. So I ended up building a small tool for myself. It’s an AI headcanon generator — you give it a few prompts, and it can generate character…

one-off image/video generation is easy, but creating a cohesive story with consistent characters and locations across multiple scenes is difficult. So I am building flickspeed.ai which provides a infinite canvas with image/video/audio nodes where you can create base characters and then use it across multiple scenes. there is also an agent which assist in writing prompts Feedback, bugs, and suggestions are all welcome.
