I've had issues saving bookmarks on my computer since my girlfriend always uses it. I'm talking about engagement ring related bookmarks, birthday plans related bookmarks, etc. My buddy and I built an extension called Hush that allows you to save them behind a password of your choosing. They're encrypted using SHA-256/AES, and you can export/import them to your liking (in case someone accidentally uninstalls the extension). It only operates in private browsing for security reasons. TLDR, Let's Seal gives the finger to Adobe and every doc signing tool (docusign, google, etc) who pay to play with the Adobe Approved Trust List and then charge you for something that should be free. I like playing around with bookmarklets (bookmarks that are executable JavaScript) And I wanted to make a Quine (code that prints a copy of its own source code ad infinitum) So I made a bookmark-only notepad that saves a copy of its own executable and current state to a JavaScript executable bookmarklet. As you type, a link on the page updates with the source code and the internal state. You can drag this link to the bookmarks bar to “save” your work. Works cross device if you have browser sync on. No server involved!

My partner and I are avid users of Delicious/Pinboard and wanted a quick way to add to and access our stored bookmarks. We created a Chrome extension to scratch that itch. It shows your ten most-recent bookmarks by default, with a fast search interface to find older bookmarks, and keyboard shortcuts for navigation. So the main purpose here is to show _a_ way that session-token theft can be mitigated. Clearly, this isn't NSA proof or something you'd use to secure a BL5 containment facility, but to prevent session-jacking; if feels like it could help a lot, and would be pretty quick and easy to roll out if an IDP wanted to implement it.

Hi HN! I built hidetext.sh — a way to share text, code, and files through links the server can't read. How it works: your browser generates a random key and encrypts everything locally (NaCl secretbox, XSalsa20-Poly1305). Only ciphertext is uploaded. The key goes into the URL fragment — the part after # — which browsers never send to servers. The link carries the key, my server stores the locked box, and the two only meet in a browser.
