24 alternatives to Enhance – A Terminal UI for GitHub Actions

Hey! So I worked on a new website for my TUI called `dash` on https://gh-dash.dev The docs content was contributed by a community member @michaeltlombardi https://github.com/michaeltlombardi which I'm super grateful for. Also, for any community member I created a discord server (https://discord.com/invite/SXNXp9NctV) where we can share configs and nerd out about terminal. The site itself is built with Starlight by Astro. I've set up a VPS with Dokploy (https://dokploy.com/) which made things so easy! Each PR publishes a new version…

I’ve been working on gotui, a modern fork of the unmaintained termui, rebuilt on top of tcell for TrueColor, mouse support, and proper resize handling. It keeps the simple termui-style API, but adds a bunch of new widgets (charts, gauges, world map, etc.), nicer visuals (collapsed borders, rounded corners), and input components for building real dashboards and tools. Under the hood the renderer’s been reworked for much better performance, and I’d love feedback on what’s missing for you to use it in production.

Hey HN, I’m Bereket, founder of Better Auth. Our team spends a huge amount of time on GitHub every day. Like anyone who’s spent enough time there, I’ve always wished for a much better GitHub experience. I’ve asked a lot of people to do something about it, but it seems like no one is really tackling GitHub directly. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a tweet from Mitchell (HashiCorp) complaining about the repo main page. That became the trigger. I decided to start hacking on a prototype to see how far I could push an alternative interface using GitHub’s APIs. Within a week, I genuinely started…

Hi HN, Up to the middle of 2025, I was the CEO/CTO of a startup called Textualize. Somehow I had managed to land seed funding for my Python libraries for fancy terminal output. We wrapped up after three years because the funding ran dry. I honestly thought I was sick of coding at that point. But it turns out I was sick of the stress and working all hours. A few weeks rest was all I needed. It was about that time that coding agents exploded, and I could no longer ignore them. I wasn't impressed with the UI these tools offered. Having worked in the terminal for a few years, I knew you…

Hey HN! We just launched Proton, a GitHub app that listens to PR review comments and suggests code changes to address them. It creates a new PR based on top of your working branch, so you can simply review and merge. How is it different from other AI code review tools? Others focus on pointing out issues, whereas Proton focuses on addressing them. Although some of them can also suggest fixes, they tend to only work on nearby lines or within a single file. But real-world feedback often involves cross-file changes like “Let’s extract this to a separate component”, or “We should follow the same…

I wanted the raw, old skool terminal days of the early internet - BBS, and old green phosphor library comptuers - but running the modern web, with all the bells and jingle jangle whistles (JavaScript, etc).
