24 alternatives to EVMole for Analysing EVM Bytecode

Hi HN, I'm excited to share the latest release of EVMole, a smart contract analysis tool for Ethereum (works directly with bytecode - verified contracts are not required). In version 0.7.1, I've added an advanced Control Flow Graph Reconstruction feature that, even though benchmarks are still coming, already outperforms every existing solution in both accuracy and speed. In addition to the new CFG capabilities, EVMole continues to offer function selector, argument, state mutability, and storage layout analysis. Open-source libraries are available in Rust, Python, and JavaScript. Online Demo:…

Hi All, I released an EVM/Solidity decompiler recently, here: http://www.eveem.org/ Since it uses symbolic execution underneath, the results are quite awesome. There is also an api that delivers a .json / middle language representation of every contract here: http://eveem.org/code/{{address}}.json The plan is to open-source it as soon as I clean up the code a bit. Spent the last two month crunch-time to get it delivered from scratch :)

I built a SQLite VFS in Rust that serves cold queries directly from S3 with sub-second performance, and often much faster. It’s called turbolite. It is experimental, buggy, and may corrupt data. I would not trust it with anything important yet. I wanted to explore whether object storage has gotten fast enough to support embedded databases over cloud storage. Filesystems reward tiny random reads and in-place mutation. S3 rewards fewer requests, bigger transfers, immutable objects, and aggressively parallel operations where bandwidth is often the real constraint. This was explicitly inspired…

I'm still on the fence about including txt2sql projects, as their functionality seems too basic to me. And I'm personally maintaining this, so your feedback is wellcome.

Hey hacker news, we launched a few weeks ago as a GPT-powered chatbot for developer docs, and quickly realized that the value of what we’re doing isn’t the chatbot itself. Rather, it’s the time we save developers by automating the extraction of data from their SaaS tools (Github, Zendesk, Salesforce, etc) and helping transform it to contextually relevant chunks that fit into GPT’s context window. A lot of companies are building prototypes with GPT right now and they’re all using some combination of Langchain/Llama Index + Weaviate/Pinecone + GPT3.5/GPT4 as their stack for…

I don't know Rust. Friday after work I realised that 90% of my IDE time now is just the commit/diff view — and even good IDEs feel heavy for that. So over the weekend I built a dedicated native tool for just that. Kyde is a macOS git commit + diff editor with one goal: be fast, do Git well. I'm curious whether anyone else mostly opens their IDE for git operations these days. It's open source, and there's a signed app in Releases.

Everyone saw the AlphaEvolve hype. I got obsessed with how it might work under the hood and decided to just build it myself. My setup uses GPT-4.1 to mutate matrix multiplication code, guided by a bunch of hand-crafted mutation strategies (loop reordering, tiling, Strassen, etc.). Each candidate is evaluated on both speed and accuracy. Then I apply Pareto selection with crowding distance to evolve better ones over generations. I ran into all the usual LLM reward hacks-returning the input, calling np.dot, etc. So I forced primitive-only implementations and tightly constrained the mutation…

Hey HN! I’m a researcher working on Bitcoin smart contracts, and today I’m releasing Bithoven—a high-level imperative language that compiles to native Bitcoin Script (Legacy, SegWit, and Taproot). The Goal: Raw Bitcoin Script is notoriously difficult to reason about. Writing raw Bitcoin Script today feels like writing Assembly in the 1970s. You have to mentally juggle the stack (`OP_SWAP`, `OP_ROT`), manually manage distinct execution branches, and pray you didn't leave a stack item unconsumed (which crashes the script). My goal was to bridge the gap between complex contract logic and raw…

Hi everyone, GitHub's CodeQL is a powerful semantic code analysis engine for identifying vulnerabilities across codebases. We've extended CodeQL to support Solidity, the most popular programming language for smart contracts. CodeQL enables you to query code as though it were data, and it's open-source (OSS). You can check it out here: . The product page is available at . CodeQL has its own licensing model, which you can find at https://codeql.github.com/. TL;DR: CodeQL is free for research and open-source projects.

Getting web3 data out of Ethereum nodes or node services is excruciatingly slow (at least days if not weeks). I had wanted a way to just download the blocks quickly since I started exploring the web3 space. Took me a bunch of trial and errors to get to a way where I can parse all the blocks since genesis within 12 hours. But, instead of moving on to the next thing, I put this service together over the last few days, so everyone can benefit.

I built nblm, a Rust-based toolset to automate Google’s NotebookLM Enterprise API reliably. It aims to replace brittle curl snippets with a stable interface you can use in cron/CI or agentic systems. * Python SDK (type-safe): IDE auto-complete, fewer JSON key typos, fits complex workflows. * Standalone CLI: single fast binary for scripts and pipelines. * Handles auth, batching, retries; you focus on logic. Rust core is fast and memory-safe. * Enterprise API only (consumer NotebookLM isn’t supported). Repo: https://github.com/K-dash/nblm-rs Feedback is welcome—I'm…
