⚡🐍 Extends built-in Python collections with LINQ-style methods - borzunov/dontasq
Dontasq extends Python's built-in collections with LINQ-style methods, enabling developers to perform complex data queries and transformations using a familiar functional programming approach. The tool integrates… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Outlines is a Python library that focuses on text generation with large language models. Brandon and I are not LLM experts and started the project a few months ago because we wanted to understand better how the generation process works. Our original background is probabilistic, relational and symbolic programming. Recently we came up with a fast way to generate text that matches a regex (https://blog.normalcomputing.ai/posts/2023-07-27-regex-guide...). The basic idea is simple: regular expressions have an equivalent Deterministic-Finite Automaton (DFA) representation. We…

Hey all, I just released v2.0.0 of FilterQL, a query language and TypeScript library. This version adds support for Operations, which allow you to transform the data after filtering. If you think this would be useful in a project you're working on, give it a try and let me know what you think!

Greetings! A 2.5 weekends project to teach myself newer Python features (>= 3.10). Conditions are written as Lambda expressions that annotate parameters and return types, and coexist with type annotations. Symbols to share values between conditions are also supported to a limited extend.

Hi HN! We're thrilled to share CozoDB v0.6, a monumental update to our FOSS database, which already unifies relational and graph features. With the addition of vector search, CozoDB becomes an even better companion for LLMs like ChatGPT. This release introduces vector search using HNSW indices within Datalog, enabling seamless integration with powerful features such as ad-hoc joins, recursive Datalog, and classical whole-graph algorithms. This update significantly broadens CozoDB's capabilities. Check out the linked release note for an in-depth look at the new features, comparisons to other…

Hi all, I've made a javascript library to simplify searching/sorting/filtering in arrays of objects. Its inspired by both GraphQL and SQL, but implemented using javascript Proxies. Instead of creating a new language, its all just javascript. I've made it as part of an experimental database, which uses javascript as the query engine. The normal javascript map/reduce/sort functions are quite difficult to master for junior developers. JAQT is easier to explain, and can still be used in combination with any existing array functions. Please let me know what you think of the…

I created this ORM to fill a gap in the Python ecosystem. Due to the nature of typing in Python there are no other Python ORMs that can provide correct type hints. Prisma Python manages to work around this by auto-generating python types. Aside from static type checking, providing type hints means that you will get autocomplete suggestions for you which for me is the killer feature for this ORM (see the GIF in the README for an example). It's also built on top of Prisma, a next-generation ORM for TypeScript which means that the core query building and connection handling has been battle…

Hi all, we recently open sourced the first version of Hashquery, a Python library which lets you model analytics, DRY up common logic, and execute it against a database or warehouse. We were originally rendering SQL directly for all our queries, but that spiraled out of control with more complex analysis; the SQL needed to be changed sporadically for each new database dialect (BigQuery, Redshift, Aethena, Postgres, etc etc) and the SQL fragments were very challenging to reuse (and so fragments were copy-pasted all over). ~~~ Advantages we think it has over writing SQL by hand: - Queries are…

Hi folks, My friend Sami and I recently built Vizly, a Mac application that allows anyone to query their databases using plain English. Vizly is built on Llama 2, llama.cpp, and runs fully on-prem (edit: meaning everything is local and your data never leaves your own computer). We are running two Llama models, one for natural language to SQL translation, and another that uses the results from the SQL to render visualizations. That means there are no external APIs and all the AI models are running locally on your MacBook. We tried to make Vizly very easy to share as well. Every Vizly instance…

SPyQL (https://github.com/dcmoura/spyql) is SQL with Python in the middle, an open-source project fully written in Python for making command-line data processing more intuitive, readable and powerful. Try mixing in the same pot: a SQL SELECT for providing the structure, Python expressions for defining transformations and conditions, the essence of awk as a data-processing language, and the JSON handling capabilities of jq. How does a SPyQL query looks like? $ spyql “ IMPORT pendulum AS p SELECT (p.now() - p.from_timestamp(purchase_ts)).in_days() AS days_ago, sum_agg(price…
