Products that do what Extract HTTP info from integration tests to create Swagger docs does
https://github.com/lazywithclass/swaggins It works by looking at the request and extracting the relevant information to populate the Swagger JSON file. I've wrote it to go with contract testing (http://martinfowler.com/articles/microservice-testing/#testing-contract-introduction), but it can also work with normal HTTP based integration tests. Any suggestion / opinion is welcome.

Hey HN, It will be more of a "How I released my API without managing a website, servers, users, and payments. With 0$ up-front cost" Over the past year, I have come up with a plan of how I could release my own product without having to deal with managing users and/or dealing with payment processing. It is a 3 steps procedure: 1. Make an API that solves a problem 2. Deploy it with a serverless architecture 3. Distribute through an API Marketplace That took me about 2-3 days to develop an API using Flask, deploy it via Zappa on AWS, and release through RapidAPI. Source code of API:…

Sharing an internal tool that accelerated my development work 10-fold, especially with API debugging. Thought fellow developers here might find it useful. As a developer, I often have trouble reproducing errors at the client end. https://intercept.rest lets me debug and monitor API requests and responses. It is similar to the Network tab in Chrome Developer Tools but works for any API: mobile apps, webhooks, frontend etc. After I shared it with a close circle of friends, they found it incredibly useful and even found new use cases, I never imagined. Been a long time lurker here and…

Development teams often struggle with using multiple tools like Postman and Swagger for API design, development, and testing. This fragmented approach leads to outdated API specs and chaotic collaboration. So we built Apidog: a single, unified API platform for team collaboration. It has a beautiful interface that makes it easy to create API spec, generate request data from API spec, validate responses, create mock data, orchestrate test scenarios, and publish API documentation. Apidog = Postman + Swagger + Mock + JMeter.

Hi HN,<p>In my spare time (evenings and weekends) I've built 3 products which have been relatively successful even with little advertising (only google ads budgeted at $30 per day). The latest one is WcfStorm.Rest; which is a REST service test client. I built it because I found that the current tools did not have the features I wanted such as, intellisense when working with HTTP headers, syntax highlighting for JSON messages, etc.<p>I'm continually trying to improve these products and would very much love get your feedback. Every suggestion is welcome!<p>(My apologies…
