We've just launched our open source mobile application analytics platform Countly (http://count.ly) and its available to download from our home page. Countly uses MongoDB, Node.js and quite a lot of cool js libraries (backbone, underscore, jquery, flot etc.). We would really appreciate it if any iOS and/or Andoroid developers out there would like to try it out. Also we can provide a demo account for you to try it out if you send us an email indicating that you are from HN. Own your data, use Countly!

I built this over the weekend. Any feedback is appreciated. Please note you will need a WebGL enabled browser. Thank you for checking it out. --UPDATE-- HN Traffic is strangling earthbit. There is sporadic downtime due to the web services I am using, if no transactions appear after a few seconds, then please try again in an hour.

First of all please go check out the amazing project this analysis is based on: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46435308 For my paper [1] I analyzed HN attention dynamics using 72k temporal snapshots from December 2025 to model decay curves, preferential attachment, and engagement survival. Today I’ve cross-referenced these findings with the recent 22GB HackerBook SQLite export to validate my early-engagement prediction models on this 22GB historical subset. Since I went remote(working) last year, I found it hard to track my work/focus hours. To begin with, I started with my mobile stopwatch but found it to be inefficient and distracting. I then tried some time management tools online but they were geared towards enterprises than individuals. Plus, had too many features. So, last weekend I created https://www.timemygrind.com/ - a simple focus time tracking tool that requires no login, no internet and has no ads. Once you finish your work, it shows the times in the table below. I usually pause when I take a break or go out for…

Hello HN! I’m happy to introduce SQLiteChangesetSync, a Swift package I’m sharing for the first time. It’s designed for offline-first synchronization of SQLite databases across devices. The package uses the SQLite Session Extension for capturing and committing changes in the local database. When the client is online, these changesets can then be pushed to a shared repository, which could be any server or database (example CloudKit implementation included). Other clients can fetch these changesets to keep their local databases consistent. SQLiteChangesetSync supports branch merging when…

Problem: You have a million things going on and stuff slips. Passport renewal, car registration, kid's doc appt, why you started going to the gym in the first place. You text yourself reminders on the go or dump it in your notes app and never look again. Solution: Faro. Text it what you need to do, and every morning it texts you the list of what's still open. Why it works: 1. It texts you every morning. Not a one-time notification, not a note you never open. Stays top of mind. 2. Done with something? Just tell it. No editing notes, no re-texting yourself a new list. 3. Zero friction. No…
