Burned about 1 weeks on this. Not sure if it's useful to anyone beyond my original use case, but figure I'd share. Friend went through a nasty divorce. Had $750k going into the marriage (inheritance), put it in a joint account like an idiot. Five years later, account's been up and down, money mixed with paychecks and mortgage payments. Lawyer says "you need a forensic accountant to trace what's still yours." Quote comes back: $5k, 4 weeks minimum. I'm sitting there thinking - this is just transaction categorization and some relatively simple math (the "Lowest Intermediate Balance Rule" if…

I’m a software architect, and I recently built Exit Protocol (https://exitprotocols.com), an automated forensic accounting engine for high-conflict litigation. Problem: If you get divorced and need to prove that a specific $250k in a heavily commingled joint bank account is your "separate property" (e.g., from a pre-marital startup exit), the burden of proof is strictly mathematical. Historically, this meant paying a forensic CPA $500/hour to dump years of blurry bank PDFs into Excel and manually trace every dollar. It takes weeks and routinely costs over $50,000. I looked at…

I've been building a CRM/accounting system for my personal small company. It's still in an early stage and is lacking a few features. But it is finally usable. https://asciinema.org/a/0g9f8c00mrkm018p10r8p8km3 Please share your thoughts

I started using Claude Code (claude --dangerously-skip-permissions) and Codex (codex --yolo) and realized I had no reliable way to know what they actually did. The agent's own output tells you a story, but it's the agent's story. logira records exec, file, and network events at the OS level via eBPF, scoped per run. Events are saved locally in JSONL and SQLite. It ships with default detection rules for credential access, persistence changes, suspicious exec patterns, and more. Observe-only – it never blocks. https://github.com/melonattacker/logira

Hello! I’m an engineer who has spent the majority of my career building financial systems and ledgers in fintech. A theme across those years was how painful traditional accounting software was to use, so I set out to build something better with Quanta. The best way to get started was by building software that would enable the best full-service accounting experience, as well as help business owners understand their business. If you have a software business, I’d love for you to check out our free trial. Any feedback appreciated. Thank you!
