Hi! I'm living as an expat in France and I had a hard time following the news. So I've been working on Fluentsubs that turns YouTube content into a language learning experience. YouTube videos up to 20 minutes can be transcribed and listened to. At the same time I made it easy to lookup certain words and automatically add spaced repetition cards using the given context. This means that you can also rehearse with a real voice and not with AI dubs. This works especially well for the somewhat smaller languages that have a small track on Duolingo, and now are desperately looking for content…

I'm a video editor, but not very professional. I mostly edit speech and podcast videos to highlight interesting parts and make short clips. I've found that the most time-consuming task is finding interesting segments in a full-length video. It usually takes me 2-3 hours of continuous listening just to find the 'timestamps' where the interesting points start and end. I'm referring to source videos that are 30 min to 1 hour long. I made this mostly to make content creation faster. When recording a youtube video/ podcast. there's alot of downtime (silence) while looking at scripts or getting the correct item to display. So I made a webapp to automatically cut and stich the video back together then I can further edit in davinci resolve. But I recently found out that this is crazy good for rewatching lectures or meeting recordings, No need to render, just drop the video in and watch it right away. 30min lecture can be watched in 12min! I even added auto generation of subtitles to make studying lecture /meeting…

I've been working on this Claude Code pipeline for making 10-minute movies, gluing together Seedance (videogen), Nano Banana (image gen), and ElevenLabs (voice gen), and using Claude as the director. My repo contributes a markdown playbook and a worked example which should make it easier for other people to make their own short movies. A first-pass movie takes around 2.5 hours of wall clock time and costs around $200, and iterating is easy thanks to intermediate artifacts like storyboards and voice samples.
