24 alternatives to Free open-source Chrome extension for users with disabilities
Hello HN! Beginner dev here; read several articles about the challenges faced by users with disabilities (and the impact on businesses). Thought to build a chrome extension to enhance web experience for users with disabilities, after realizing that current solutions focus on auditing web for accessibility. Current features published on Chrome store: Text Magnification | High contrast | Alt text | TTS. Working on (but not published yet) tooltip to explain each feature, additional language support. Will appreciate feedback, collaborations and suggestions of things to improve. GitHub Repo:…

I started this because similar Chrome extensions were paywalling features and I wanted a free, open source alternative. I'm new to this, so I would appreciate feedback and tips if anyone has some!

Hey there, HN! My name is Rishit, and this is my first post here on HN. Let me start off by asking you a question. How many tabs do you have open in Chrome right now? If you said less than five or ten: Congratulations, you’re not suffering from the dreaded 'Too Many Tabs Syndrome' (TMTS). Well, most probably! We all grow and start from zero. What?! Say that again. Did I hear you correctly? 25? 50? 100? Maybe even more? Or you’re just too lazy like me and said ‘too many’ since you can’t count them on your fingers? Woah! Now we’re talking! Yeah, yeah, I know, we’re in HN land after all, so I…

Hi all, I just made this Chrome extension I would like to hear your feedback on: http://alexisrondeau.com/reup/ The extension will ask you to define a goal while working within Chrome. Once you've set yourself that goal it will be visible on any webpage you visit after that. Some background: I've been noticing how much time I tend to waste online, especially Facebook, HackerNews, and tried many different ways to control the habit. There are extensions and methods out there that should help with this kind of behavior, for example StayFocusd or LeechBlock, but I have found myself not being…

I often forget the list of tasks done and frequently miss mentioning updates during stand-ups. I made a Chrome Extension for myself and I found myself using it more than expected in the last few weeks (especially as I was at home) Sharing it here so others can give it a try too: https://usedone.today/

Hey, folks! I'm writing this small Chrome Extension to help me find jobs I'd be interested in the monthly HN's "Who is Hiring?" thread. I've used React to render the UI that just loads a stripped down version of the posts and look into them by the tags I've chosen. Here's a demo: http://imgur.com/a/CzNSa. I haven't submitted to the Chrome Web Store yet because of their $5 fee. :P But let me know if you'd be interested and I can share the extension with you :)

Hey everyone, I'm just a regular guy who spends way too much time online. Whether it's scrolling through articles, binging blogs, or just doing some work, I realized something – the web can be a pretty dull place, visually speaking. Ever got tired of staring at the same old fonts and colors on every site? Yeah, me too. That's why I created BetterFont. It's a simple idea, really: let's make the web a bit more us. With BetterFont, you can change fonts, tweak colors, adjust spacing... all that good stuff, directly in your browser. No coding, no fuss. Whether you need bigger fonts to read…

Hey HN, this is a small project I created that blurs your browser window whenever you start slouching. I'm sure it can be improved, but I wanted to put it out there in case anyone was interested. Links to the github repo [0] and the extension on the Chrome Webstore [1]. I'd love to get some feedback on it. [0] https://github.com/killa-kyle/posture-posture-posture-chrome... Link: http://www.gethackertools.com Hey guys, I love Hacker News like all of you do, I spend a good portion of my time reading interesting content and the best, your replies... My only gripe is extra functionality that I know PG doesn't want to have to deal with... So I came up with this idea to make a super extension that does all the things I want, plus merges all the other cool HN extensions into one... Only problem? I don't have much time to put into it, so I figured why not open source it, and allow anybody in the community to fork it, improve it, add functionality, whatever they want,…
