http://hello.lanternapp.co I care a lot about people finding fulfilling work. 71% of people are disengaged at work. So much more good could be done in the world if the right people are in jobs they are excited about it. It's possibly the most leveraged problem out there. Obviously, there are many reasons why people are disengaged. I am particularly interested in the difficulties that exist with 1) knowing what jobs are out there, 2) being to understand what they are ACTUALLY like. If you think about it, it's very hard to answer these questions. Everyone here probably remembers…

(not sure why my previous post didn't appear on Show HN even though I included it in the title, mods please remove if not allowed) Ever applied for a job and never heard back? Many companies just go silent instead of sending rejection emails, leaving you guessing whether to keep waiting or move on. I faced this frustration during my own internship search, especially when there was no real point of contact (automated replies don't count, lol). So, I built didtheyghost.me, a simple open-source tool that crowdsources job application responses. This isn't a job scraper or another job board. It's…

Hello everyone, I got laid off last year and during the job hunt, I kept running into ghost jobs, these listings that never lead anywhere. Super frustrating. After some point, I started tracking company behavior across job boards. It snowballed into a little web app where you can actually see how companies are hiring — or pretending to. It's free, early stage, UI is a bit rough, but here’s what some info it shows per company: -Job boards they post on -ATS system they use -Median salary by role -Post frequency + how old the listings are -Skills and degree requirements -Track all existing…

Hi, I built a job board focused on positions where Elixir is a core requirement. During my job search I realized how frustrating that Elixir was often just a nice to have but not a main requirement. So I started posting jobs where Elixir is a primary skill. Whenever I find a relevant position I verify it and post it on the site. elixir-careers.com I believe that Elixir will be more and more popular from now on since huge companies are finally adopting it

^ That's what our team said to me initially but we think it's pretty chill now. We built a job search tool that uses investor software to help you discover the most exciting companies to work for right now. Free this week so that you guys can try it out before we hard launch next week (paywall is down). Feedback is our oxygen: What can we do better? Are you gonna give us money? Why do you hate the design?

Hello all, I saw that many people have lost their job due to the current economic situation and I have seen many people posting status and updates on Twitter, Reddit and LinkedIn about their job search struggle. Even on who wants to be hired thread on HN, I saw more than 300 people seeking jobs. I have been thinking very hard on how I can possibly help them find a job. So I thought of building a platform where profiles of few randomly selected job seekers (2-10) is featured daily to help them find the job quickly. My mission is to help 3000+ people find a job in 2020. Here's the link:…
