I built a tool which you can use to visualise your git commits at an org or repository level. It shows just how much work an engineering team, or even an individual does, that often goes unseen by non-dev teams. You can read about the build here: https://ably.com/blog/visualize-your-commits-in-realtime-wit... Repo is here: https://github.com/ably-labs/github-commit-visualizer You can deploy your own to netlify (or provider of your choice) and start visualising your own project's commits in realtime.

Hey folks, Here's a quick and dirty tool to use natural language to get git to do what you want. Example: $gitgpt create a new branch called feature/test add all the files and commit with msg creating feature test then push to origin I haven't put it through the wringer yet, however it's worked well with some pretty straight forward day to day git usage.

Over the years I've cobbled together aliases and bash functions to try to improve my git workflow, but after using jj, which works with ~any git repo and integrates great with Github repos, all of the workflow issues I ran into with git are not only solved, but improved in ways I couldn't manage with simple scripts. One example is the op log, which lets you go to any point in your repo's time and provides…

I use interactive rebase quite often, and particularly like the editor bundled with IntelliJ. But I do not always work with IntelliJ, and am not 'fluent' with Vim, so I tried to replicate roughly the same rebase experience within a TUI. I used a small TUI OCaml project i made last year. The notable features are: - Move commits up and down, fixup, drop - Rename commits from the editor (without having to stop for a reword during the rebase run) - Visualize modified files along commits - 'Explode' a commit ,creating a commit for each modified file (a thing I found myself doing quite often)…
