Hey HN, I fine-tuned a small open-source model on golf forecasting and it beats GPT-5 at predicting golf outcomes. The same approach can be used to build a specialized model in any domain, you just need to update a few search queries. We fine-tuned gpt-oss-120b with LoRA on 3,178 golf forecasting questions, using GRPO with Brier score as the reward. Our model outperformed GPT-5 on Brier Skill (17% vs 12.8%) and ECE (6% vs 10.6%) on 855 held-out questions. How to try it: the model and dataset are open-source, with code, on Hugging Face. I’ve been building LLM tooling for a small VC fund and found myself explaining the same mental model over and over to non-technical people around me: how a stateless LLM becomes a chatbot, how tool use works, what an agent is mechanically, and why context windows shape all of it. I never found a guide that covered that full chain at the level I wanted, so I wrote one. It’s nine short chapters, each building on the last. I've been experimenting with ways to increase AI adoption for non-technical people. Basically, all companies are pushing for AI because it's all over the news and they feel left behind but most people have no clue where to start. I think 90% of people (ie non coders) are sufficiently well served by using cowork instead of claude code or something similar. If we can get people from sales, customer support, marketing, etc to collaborate with skills and cowork to form a company brain, I think it's gold. Hi guys; Over the weekend I've created this using Claude Code. It's an ear training app destined to teach intonation and intervals to not so talented musicians like me. I spend many year playing guitar without a clear feeling on what intonation really was. It was after some string tuning exercises that it clicked for me. The freq sliding into the right place and feeling the correctness. I hope this app can helps other to feel that for the first time, or to increase the recognition of less common intervals. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hello, This is something I've wanted to build for awhile (first bought the domain in 2020 (then lost it for a year+)). It's a tactics solver on each new tab page. There are 5 modes of play: Easy (<1200 elo) Medium (1200-1800) Hard (1800-2400) Expert (2400+) Speedrun (solve as many puzzles as possible in 60 seconds). I'm having a ton of fun with it, and definitely noticing improvements with actual games (definitely solved the most puzzles in my life while developing this extension).
