Products that do what GPU Perpetual Futures Prototype does

GPU rental prices are super volatile but there's no derivatives market to hedge. I built a perpetual futures platform to see what this could look like. The idea is airlines hedge jet fuel, starbucks hedges coffee beans - as GPU compute becomes critical infrastructure the same hedging tools should exist. Not sure if anyone actually needs this but it was interesting to build. How it works: - Pulls live H200 spot prices from Vast.ai every 15s into a tradeable index - Full perp mechanics: funding rates, mark price calc, real-time P&L - Event-driven Rust backend with supervisor pattern and…

Hey HN! This idea started with me not being able to buy a GPU and constantly losing to bots/scalpers. I figured I'd use this as way to see how far I can get with 'vibe-coding and designing'*. The end result was pretty far! Here are more details of behind the scenes. In a future blog post, I'll detail behind the scenes process of building this. - The landing page is React/Typescript/Tailwind.css (which I've never used before) - The dashboard is based on Evidence.dev - which is SQL queries in Markdown + little bit of custom Javascript for chart formatting (again never used…

We built, saga[1] a layer that lets smaller teams access enterprise GPU discounts through collective buying power. How it works: 1. Aggregate GPU spend across hundreds of ML teams 2. Get enterprise rates through combined volume 3. Pass savings to users, monetize via provider partnerships Technical notes: - Works at billing layer only (no access to code/data) - Supports existing cloud setups or managed GPUs - Private beta running since January, opening more spots for March - Currently seeing ~50% savings on H100s/A100s [1] https://trysaga.ai

I've made a GPU comparison site: https://gpu-prices.com/US/ Yes, there was one yesterday - I got beaten to it. This one is different in that I've put a lot of work into categorisation, so you can filter down quite precisely. For example, VRAM-per-dollar, limiting to Nvidia, and a minimum performance score allow you to find good ML GPUs. It currently supports Australia, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and the US. The tech stack is Python for data pull and static site generation then Cloudflare Pages for actually serving the site. It updates three times a day, but I could increase…

Out of curiosity, I put together a simple website which tracks the prices for a few variations of A100/H100 GPUs by hour broken out between spot/ondemand, form factor and provider. Specifically I was tailoring the tool towards the smaller, emerging providers like runpod, gpulist.ai, lambda labs etc. Anyone have any ideas to expand/refine it?

Hi HN! I've been hacking on this side project for the last month or two with the goal of making it dead simple to use cloud GPUs. I ran into this problem personally during the phd, and built my own tooling around it. I always thought it'd be fun to try to turn that tooling into a more general product... and bitbop.io is the result! All you have to do is run `ssh bitbop.io`, and you get your own personal dev GPU workstation in the cloud. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

We'd like to introduce HN to Spell, which is a tool for easily running ML/DL jobs remotely. As Deep Learning has grown we see engineers and researchers struggle to incorporate running on GPUs into their workflow. So we built Spell to be the easiest way to get code running elsewhere - like the bash '&' operator but for remote machines. Sign up for an account at https://web.spell.run/waitlist, which includes $300 in credits for GPU time. There's a waitlist, but we'll be approving accounts as they come in. Here are some of the features we really wanted and built into Spell:…

I was a software engineer at a late stage startup and was caught in a layoff this January. When I looked into exercising my options or getting liquidity, I realized the secondary market is a total black box. Liquidity funds spend a fortune on Google Ads just to find people like us. Those high marketing costs eventually come out of our pockets in the form of higher fees and worse terms. I built StrikeRates to change that. The site is meant to be a central resource for anyone navigating this. I included a Liquidity 101 section that explains the different financial vehicles because that…

Hi everyone, Please checkout compute.cx which is a simple cli interface for using on demand GPUs from RunPod and HotAisle. I created this because I really like the ease of modal.com for severless gpu access, but don’t always want to pay their markup. Compute.cx gives the same DX but on public on-demand GPUs like runpod and hotaisie. Please try it out, and write to me [email protected] for any questions/suggestions, or file a bug report on https://github.com/theoriclabs/docs.compute.cx Thanks! Hi HN, We’re a small team working on 13Radar.com, which we launched about two weeks ago after 4 months of development. I’m the founder, and together with the team we’re building a platform that tracks hedge fund portfolios in real-time based on SEC Form 13F filings. AI has been a major helper in our workflow. For a single webpage, we often consult multiple AI systems in parallel, generating different versions and comparing them side by side before deciding on the final design or implementation. More than 60% of the research, design, and coding involved AI assistance. For UI design we used…

We've built InferX, a specialized runtime environment that fundamentally changes how LLMs are served. The core problem we solve is the latency bottleneck in AI inference, especially with large models. Current systems waste resources or suffer from painfully slow cold starts. InferX's AI-native architecture, with its "snapshot" technology, enables: * *Sub-2s cold starts:* Spin up models instantly. * *High density:* Serve more LLMs on the same GPUs. * *Optimal efficiency:* Maximize GPU utilization. This isn't just another API; it's a new execution layer designed from the ground up for the…

I built this mostly because I love the intersection of game AI, high-performance computing, and poker. I’d love for anyone interested in game theory or CUDA optimization to tear it apart, test the accuracy, and give me feedback. Happy to answer any questions about the algorithms, the transition from CPU to GPU, or poker AI in general!

Hey HN, We’re challenging retail wealth management. Most individual portfolio optimization is fundamentally flawed because it’s static and ignores your specific goals. I spent a decade helping some of the world’s largest investors build their portfolios. My co-founder built hundreds of financial plans for retail investors before backend engineering at Microsoft. We know the problem: traditional portfolio construction and maintenance approaches (like Modern Portfolio Theory) rely on myopic, static allocation. This failure of methodology is why advisors ignore retail investors below $250k in…

I’ve spent the last few days prototyping a browser-based game engine stack designed for instant-load, "Roblox-for-Teens" style deployment. The goal is to lower the floor for AA indie devs who want high-fidelity physics and instant web distribution without the overhead of Unity or a heavy Godot export. The Stack Engine: A headless WASM/WebGPU implementation. I’m currently using custom flags and selective streaming to bypass standard browser memory and execution limits. Physics: I’ve ported Jolt (Guerrilla Games) but modified the solver to mimic the original Blam! engine (Bungie/Halo…

After working at Bridgewater Associates and moving to San Francisco, I decided to combine my passion for software development and finance to create Pluto – an AI-driven platform that revolutionizes the way retail investors manage their finances. Today, I'm excited to share our beta with you: https://pluto.fi/ Pluto is built with a combination of Next.js and Python, running on K8s and Kafka. Hi there, looking for feedback on my new project "Featherless.AI" The idea is to allow users to run all the models on hugging face instantly. Via the OpenAI API compatible endpoint. Why? Because its a real chore to download models and spin up GPUs, especially if you want to test multiple models. Not to mention GPUs cost multiple dollars an hour to rent. And if we want more people to use open source AI, we got to make it easier for them to try and play with all of them. So what if instead of spinning up dedicated GPUs per model (which is what every provider is doing) We can startup a LLM…
