Products that do what GraFlo - Universal ETL tool for property KG (Neo4j, TigerGraph, Arango) does

We built GraFlo after repeatedly writing the same boilerplate code to transform datasets into Neo4j, ArangoDB, and TigerGraph. Every time we had a new dataset (OpenAlex, IBES financial data, Debian packages), we'd write yet another custom ETL script with the same problems: ID generation, type coercion, deduplication, and database-specific quirks. GraFlo is a declarative framework that handles this once and for all. You define your graph structure in a database-agnostic schema - vertices, edges, properties, and how they map to your source data (CSV, SQL, JSON, XML). GraFlo then generates the…

Hey HN! We are Jonathan & Guy, and we are happy to share a project we’ve been working on. ChartDB is a tool to help developers and data analysts quickly visualize database schemas by generating ER diagrams with just one query. A unique feature of our product is AI-Powered export for easy migration. You can give it a try at https://chartdb.io and find the source code on GitHub. Next steps ---> More AI. We’d love feedback :)

Last year we launched ChartDB OSS (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44972238) - an open-source tool that generates ER diagrams from your database (via query/sql/dbml) without needing direct DB access. Now we’re launching the ChartDB Agent. It helps you design databases from scratch or make schema changes with natural language. You can: - Generate schemas by simply describing them in plain English - Brainstorm new tables, columns, and relationships with AI - Iterate visually in a diagram (ERD) - Deterministically export SQL script Try it out here -…

One year ago I open-sourced my very first 'real' project and shared it here. I was a college student in my senior year and desperately looking for a job. At the time of sharing it i couldn't even afford a domain and naively let someone buy the one i had my eyes on lol. It's been a hell of a year with this blowing up, me moving to another country, and switching 2 jobs. In a year we somehow managed to hit 26k stars, grow a 1000+ person discord community, and support 37 languages. I couldn't be more grateful for the community that helped this grow, but now i don't know what direction to take…

Hi HN! I’m Alex from Parabola (https://parabola.io). Parabola is a visual programming tool for creating functional data flows that everyone can use. It’s entirely drag-and-drop, handles data sizes much larger than a traditional spreadsheet, calculates everything live, and can run your flows on a schedule of your choosing. I used to work in strategy consulting, doing data analytics for SMBs and Fortune 500 companies. The amount of time wasted on menial tasks was astounding. Things like cleaning data, generating custom reports, creating human workflows to solve shortcomings in third…

Hi, Kate here! Grafbase is excited to announce the introduction of Federated Graphs, a significant enhancement to our GraphQL services. This update marks a pivotal shift from our traditional front-end focus to a broader, more enterprise-scale approach. Here's everything you need to know about this new feature launch. Federation allows each independent subgraph to be stitched together into a unified graph that can be exposed to end users. The Federation gateway determines the most efficient query plan for every query, optimizing for resource use. Additionally, Grafbase Federated Graphs have:…

Hi HN community, I’m Nick, co-founder/CEO of Transform.co. I’m thrilled to share MetricFlow, an open-source metric creation framework: https://github.com/transform-data/metricflow MetricFlow strives to make what has historically been an extremely repetitive process, writing SQL queries on core normalized data models, much more DRY. MetricFlow consolidates the definitions for joins, aggregations, filters, etc., and programmatically generates SQL to construct data marts. You can think of it like LookML, but more powerful and ergonomic (and open source!). The project…

Hey, I'm Nenad. I built Grafly (https://grafly.io) because I kept reaching for different tools just to sketch out a quick architecture diagram and hating either the UI, color schemes, usage patterns or that I had to log in, or have my doodles stored on someone's server. It's a React/React Flow app that runs entirely in the browser meaning that everything saves to localStorage, nothing leaves your machine. You get basic shapes, AWS/GCP icons, edges with waypoints and shareable URLs that encode the whole diagram in the query string (no backend, just LZ compression). There…

Hey HN, we’re Ross and Javier, co-founders of Engraph (www.engraph.ai). Our goal is to completely automate the process of building ETL pipelines, from ad hoc pipelines for question answering to fully fledged ETL pipelines within large organisations: For ad hoc pipelines, a question answering platform which enables users to ask questions in natural language about their organisation's data. Traditionally, access to data within organisations is limited to a handful of data-engineers. This means that if an employee needs access to some data, they have to go through a lengthy process of…
