The magic in AI coding assistants isn't the code -- it's the prompts. I studied the externally observable behavior of Claude Code and recreated it from scratch in Python with the exact same behaviors. It works with any model -- OpenAI, Gemini, Claude. We were both genuinely impressed by Claude Code after it helped each of us fix nasty CI problems overnight. Doing those fixes manually would have taken days. After that experience, we each found ourselves struggling through Ctrl+Tab through multiple Claude Code windows in our terminals. I built a plugin that lets Claude Code delegate work to Gemini CLI. I started this after finding myself reaching for Gemini more often on long context repo work. I have been especially liking Gemini’s codebaseinvestigator for long context. This is inspired by openai/codex-plugin-cc. Code Review, adversarial review. VS Code and JetBrains have official Claude Code IDE integration, but Visual Studio doesn't. There's an open GitHub issue with a lot of +1s so I built it myself (check out the gif in the GitHub repo for a visual example). It implements the same protocol the official plugins use, so the Claude CLI connects to it automatically. You don't configure anything, just install the extension and click Launch.
